Match thread : Sri Lanka vs New Zealand : Twenty20 World Cup 2007
New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first.
A very good shout from Vaas turned down.
New Zealand 3/0 after 1st Over.

NZ 25/1 after 5.0 overs.
I say the match is Srilanka's now. NZ will not post more than 150, which is at least 30 short of a competitive score against Srilanka.

Ross Taylor was trying guide the ball over the fine leg and the commentator is saying "that's Ashraful shot and now one in the world can play it better than him. He has really modified the shot and invented a number of ways to play that shot."
Good to hear.

80-2 after 10 ... Ross Taylor's looking good ... classy young player ... Wijekoon is not impressive ... getting spanked AOP ... a massive 6 travelled 79 meters ... 94-2 ... Wijekoon gets Fulton, Mali takes the catch ... 95-3 after 10.5 ... Scott "lips" Styris in to spank Wijekoon ... doesn't ... still 95-3 after 11

that is a big blow indeed ...
because Styris is a dependable middle order and this wkt would peg the run rate back

165-7 at the end of 20 overs.
Extremely good bowling by Sri Lanka to restrict NZ on this score at Wanderers.
