The Holy Quran and MS Excel: A Cool Construct

Excerpt-

1. The Quran does not only portray its miracles through it words, but even by the way it was constructed by God Almighty. By using the graphs below we can understand how even 'the number a of chapter" and the "amount of verses per chapter" create a scatter graph, which is a bunch of points on a graph.

On the x-axis we illustrate the number of the chapter in the Quran, for example in Surah "Al-Imran", the number of the chapter is 3. At the same time the y-axis refers to the "total" number of ayas per chapter/surah, in this case Surah Al-Imran has 200 verses/ayas. Therefore the coordinate of Surah Al-Imran is (3,200) from the equation (x,y).



2. Here we can see that the scatter graph forms the name of God Almighty (Allah الله). Each point reflects a different Surah, for example as we mentioned prior Surah Al- Imran is seen here as (3,200). The other points are the remaining 113 Chapters of the total 114 Chapters in the Quran.



3. In this graph we can see that the scatter graph forms the name of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh&hf) (محمد). Again the points all correspond to the Surahs of the Quran. Although in this graph it is apparent that the name of God and the name of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh&hf) are overlapping in the same spot, for example Surah Al-Fatiha is the tip of the Alif in Allah, and at the same time it defines "ha" in Mohammed.

Overwhelming proof to some.

Skepticism despite the overwhelming proof for others.

A stretch where the 'input' meets the 'expectation' to many.

Personally, I just think it's COOL ...

Btw, any chance that other prophets name may show similar effect on scatterplot? For example, I think Prophet Isa(peace be upon him) was mention many times too and also his mother Mary (peace be upon her).

Just thought of that possiblity.

The way I see it, the numbers can be endlessly rearranged in terms of different theoretical sets and permutations and combinations therein. The introduction of a 'z' axis, not to mention neat 3D angular variations can bring about an incredible variety with regards to groups of points which can be constructed into an infinite number of images, signs and other constructs. Think of the spontaneous order and patterns our minds create when we look at the night sky filled with stars, or a Jackson Pollock painting and other such works of 'abstarct' art ...

That said, it is indeed VERY COOL that two of the simplest grouping on the 'xy' axis enable us to connect the peripheral points and come up with Allah الله and Mohammed محمد.

Sadly, no PhD here Mijan ... just a couple of MS degrees - one which I was coerced into by the F100 company I worked for 10 years. I'd love to return that degree in exchange for something in traditional Islamic theology in Morocco, or perhaps American, Latin American, Central European, Japanese, Classical Arabic or Farsi literature. Then again, studying discrete mathematics or one of the hard sciences, preferably theoretical physics or anything to do with the Human Genome Project would’ve been great too.

Chasing personal demons and studying psychology after the BS was useful. But later chasing money by studying specialized marketing and business development strategy, not to mention resource and assets allocation tidbits was a colossal waste of time despite the money ...

a few years ago, our imam told us of a book written by an arab christian. he was responding to the challenge in the quran to reproduce even a single ayat like the quran. he wrote a book called "al furqaanul haq" (the true criterion).

i looked it up, and its quite a laugh riot. first of all, its a complete copycat borrowing phrases out of the quran left, right, and center.

further, it is expounding christian doctrine which means the book is self contradictory since the writer cannot claim that it was divine revelation.
