Default Movie: Kill Bill

Today I went to see Texas chainsaw Massacre but was late and there was a big line so ended up watching "Kill Bill" which I knew nothing about.

At the beginning, it seemed weird but soon I got sucked into it. It has been a long time since I have seen such a well made good movie.

If you liked Pulp Fiction, watch this one., You will love it. The story, direction, music, simply awesome.

Warning: It is full of violence and lot of blood.

Thanks Rajputro bhai. I was actually looking for some feedback on this one. Quentin Tarantino was one of my fav director. But his last few was not that good. So, i had some suspect.

I liked Reservoir Dogs more than Pulp fiction.

Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorite director also. I did not know this movie was directed by Quentin Tarantino untill I came home and checked it.

2 of my most favorite movies are Pulp Fiction (Directed by him) and Natural Born Killers (Written by him).

I did not see Reservoier Dogs. Have to add it to my must see list.

I walked out of the theatre and exchanged the tickets for another movie right after the "Bang Bang" intro song bored me to death. Well, I actually watched the movie for half an hour before walking out.

Not everyone will like it.

I was thinking about leaving also, with the bang bang song. And Chapter one was very weird. But from Chapter 2, I was totally into it.

Kill bill has been in my list for 2 months.

Didn't get a chance to see it yet, don't have the time. BUt I will definitely see it. ONe thing that sucks and sometime told me there isa reason for it - is that Quintin decided in the 11th hour to make it a two parter. The two part movie cost 55 mi and it made almost 40% on the first week for the first episode. This should be a cash mechine for everyone involved.

OMG since this is like a movie thread...i went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show (at Sunset Cinema, at the City botanical gardens, James, you can take that ano chic next time) and it is the best movie! it's so weird but so good. i'm sure underneath all that trippy stuff there is a whole heap of meaningful crap. everybody see it, who already hasn't. also read The Power of One and Tandia.

Btw is it showing at Indro?

Saw Tx massacre and runaway jury this weekend. Both were good, though the former was a bit gory. I loved Gene Hackman's acting in the runaway jury. It's a remake of some old "twelve angry men" flick, I hear.

I wanted to kill Bill, and his harem, by the time I got done with this movie. And I got done early, about the time Uma Thurman is pulling out the dude's tongue. I had accidentally gone into the movie with my 12 year old, a seriously bad move.

I liked Pulp Fiction a lot but the rather senseless violence in Tarantino's later day movies is becoming a big turn off. Haven't seen Natural Born Killers and don't plan to.

Even the docile PG-13 action genre is getting old in its predictability, I long for the time when there was just good old James Bond and one would wait in anticipation for next one (and of course the next Bond girl).

If you want to see a really well made movie just released, check out Ritupurno Ghosh's adaptation of Rabindranath's "Chokher Bali". It was fantastic to see a Bangla movie made this tight, from cinematography to acting to showcasing a Bengal long lost. It played at the Chicago Film Festival and is probably just getting released wherever quality Indian films are shown. We caught the opening night and interestingly Raima Sen was there for a Q&A session afterwards. She was great in the movie but sadly didn't know much about the actual Chokher Bali.

Rafiq you just mentioned Bond girls and Chokher Bali. and you know what...Aishwarya Rai's in Chokher Bali AND she's the next Bond girl! what a coincidence...or maybe you did know that and it was just your chain of thought..damn...
