Default Asia Cup 2008

Asia Cup on as scheduled
Cricinfo
The ninth Asia Cup will be played in Pakistan next June, as originally planned. This was confirmed by the executive board of the Asian Cricket Council, which met in Delhi.
The teams taking part are defending champions Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, along with Hong Kong and United Arab Emirates. The previous edition of the Asia Cup was held in mid-2004, with Sri Lanka defeating India by 25 runs to claim the trophy. The Asia Cup was initially scheduled for April 2008, but it was postponed to accommodate the Indian Premier League, a franchise-based Twenty20 tournament organised by the Indian board.
There was speculation that the Asia Cup could be postponed again because of the political situation in Pakistan but Nasim Ashraf, the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board, allayed those doubts by saying he had received an assurance from the BCCI that India would participate in the tournament.
The details of the fixtures will be released at a later date

I do not see any mention of Bangladesh. Is'nt Bangladesh a cricketing nation in Asia?
I thought that BD will be involved in this tournament.
Pls enlighten me.

Taken from wikipedia:
The ninth edition of the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan in April 2008. The format sees two groups of three sides, where each side in each group plays each other once. The top two teams in each group play in knock-out semi-finals, with a one-off final to follow.
Group A consists of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
Group B consists of India, Oman and Pakistan.

I think it's an error by CricInfo.
No worries...we can use this thread for the Asia Cup 2008 discussions.

Easy mate, I don't think she realized it was a typo and thus, her concern is legitimate.

I have seen a lot of typo's from CI. And time to time emailed them to correct those. I am not sure whether its done intensionally or not as i mostly read articles regarded Bangladesh so i am not sure whether they do it for other countries too or not. In any case I think a blunder like this should make you think oh this a typo rather than thinking about any conspiracy...

Crapinfo strikes again - and to respond to Akabir - no they don't have this many errors on articles pertaining to other teams.
