BC bulletin : Bangladesh lose by 7 wickets despite Tamim heroics
Current/Forthcoming Tour
Bangladesh in New Zealand, 2007-08
Bangladesh lose by 7 wickets despite Tamim heroics
21 December 2007
Auckland made light work to see off Bangladesh in the third and final warm-up match before the three match one day international series against the Black Caps and handed the Bangladeshis their second defeat in three matches on their tour of New Zealand so far. The only match in which Bangladesh averted defeat was washed out due to inclement weather.
Auckland breezed past Bangladesh's total of 242 with 7 wickets in hand and 4 overs to spare.

Only net bowlers bowled from shortened length, national bowlers bowled from full length.

After seeing how small the field is, I can't blame our bowlers. Only a score in the range 300-350 could have been defended on this ground. The score of 242 here was simply pathetic.

What do you mean ? Getting whitewashed by Kiwis should not hurt as much as it hurts to see getting whitewashed by their state sides.

who can score in BD team now?
If you see carefully the wins we got there was some one who scored the bulk of runs and the other stayed with that batsman score 40/40 or 50/50. now this used to be players like sakib/bashar/mushi who stayed at the wicket supporting SN/ASH/AFTAB
Now look at the current picture (in NZ tour). no one is there to support the boom player. Mushi is in poor form (from NCL). Sakib is in deep water. and Bashar is missing. SO that's why we r back to the old habit of getting out before 50 overs.
Can't believe that even after one opener scored 100 we were all out...

On a positive note, the century by Tamim today at least makes sure that we won't see JO in the entire ODI series. Thats a big thing. If Tamim got out cheaply today, they might have thought about putting JO with Junaid. Also, the last game, weather denied JO a chance to bat as well.

I was disappointed specially at our bowling. Expected some kind of fight which I saw against the Northern Districts in the last match. Anyway, basically I am an optimist and hope to see better performance in future.
