We could have easily won yesterday so I'm not very depressed. I was very impressed with Tamim yesterday. He played well. We know we can compete with these guys now so we need to put it all together and win! I think the key to us winning tommorow is Aftab. He needs to play sensisble and atleast give us a score in the 30's. We need Ashraful to keep on playing well. The thing I was pleased with the most was that us fans thought that a score of 201 was an utter failure. That shows how far Bangladesh cricket has come. A score of 201 is now a failure against a good team in their own country. A couple of years ago, many of us would be pleased with 201. Now we expect 250! That is a good attitude to have and it shows that we are developing into a real cricket nation that expects to win whenever we step onto the field.

Now the Onus is on the middle order batsmen to deliver. Also, can Tamim and Ashraful repeat their heroic ?

Here is the scores of last few ODIs played on McLean Park -
http://stats.cricinfo.com/guru?sdb=g...ields=viewtype
As you can see, last four matches played here were high scoring affairs. McLean Park is one of the very few grounds in NZ that exclusively belongs to cricket, so the pitch here should have changed much from year to year.

The least I want from the openers is a fifty partnership, and to survive the first 10 overs. I want aftab to always see the field settings and see where the hell he is hitting. I want ash to be ash. I want sakib to settle himself in, forget about everything else just get settled. I want to farhad reza just continue rotating the strike, and playing those cut shots properly.
I want to see mushfiq score sumthing
I want to see the pacers bowl with fire, and the spinners to keep it tight.

This is what Siddons had to say about Bangladesh.
Quote:
Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons said his side had looked to get 280 when it should have been more concerned with ensuring a total of at least 250.
Several players, including Ashraful, threw their wickets away.
"We broke a few team rules, so we'll talk about that and hopefully make sure it doesn't happen again.
"If we get those sorts of starts, you can't afford to fall away that quickly and that badly," Siddons said. "We've got to make sure we get 250 and bat our 50 overs." |
