Yap!!
He is seeing reasonably well and also hearing reasonably well.
He should be a reasonably good umpire.

Steve Bucknor was my favourite umpire but not now, though I don't have any complain against him. Aleem Dar is a good umpire I think. So, I hope that both of them gonna do a good job with less controversy

Smith is not Ponting in the field and would not pressure the senior umpires. We should be fine. There will be calls going against us, but I expect some against them also.

No matter who the umpire is, we will have to put up better batting performance.

Aleem Dar is about the fairest umpire. He is very attentive and gives the batsmen the benefit of the doubt. He rarely makes a mistake. Steve Bucknor should be better here, because he will know that all eyes are upon him after his shameful performance in australia. I was happy that India made that stance against him.

Good to see Moni slowly making his mark.
Hopefully we would have a world class umpire among us ( even though i never seen him umpiring)....
Go Moni. Be our jewel.

As far as I can remember Saikat was an off spinner, whose name came up on the limelight during 98-99. He used to play for Kalabagan and most probably he was included in the nat'l team probables sometime as a very young player (not sure). His records:
| Bowling averages | | Mat | Balls | Runs | Wkts | BBI | Ave | Econ | SR | | First-class | 10 | 2122 | 713 | 31 | 6/45 | 23 | 2.01 | 68.4 |
Didn't know till today that he was invovled with BCB.

Thanks OneWorld and nsd3.
I think Miraz bhai got the wrong name.. or That stupid Rabid Imam made the mistake.
He wrote Shahid, so I was confused as theres no Shaikot in the list.
BTW, this guy is not a good umpire. We heard about him during the NCL. He didnt do well. Ash also complained I guess in one of the match.
Daily Inqilab also saying the same. And they are confused.
I think its because of power he is going to umpire in the warm up game. As hes the manager of the umpires in BD.

Language please!! Rabid Imam wrote the correct name.
Shoikat is the nick name, his real name is Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid.
He was a student of Dhaka University, a tall off spinner. He is young, probably 32-33.

Oh Ok.. Thanks. Miraz Bhai.
But I think my language was correct. He makes too many mistakes in his articles for TC.

I hate to interfare, but I dont think that making mistakes in articles warrants the title of "stupid". RI has done a ton of good as our media manager, and he's a valued member of this site. I wouldnt just go and call you "stupid" for anything, unless we're buddies from childhood.
