So you can't download it yet, right?
What's the point of the announcement? Personally, I feel that they're dramatizing the whole effect of this new browser.

Ok...so it CAN be downloaded. The Wiki page needs to be updated then. It says that it's not yet available to the general public.

look and feel - IE7/8
speed - just like when FF was first introduced. Over time it will most likely perform like FF.
It crashed in matter of 1 min of my browsing experience.
my verdict: stay put. another "cool" product from google which is more to do with 'business' than usability!

Most revolutionary concept in this is the independent process per tab; and virtual machine for JavaScript. Beta product is sure to have some glitches (I could not type Bangla yet; even though it displays Bangla fine), but I think this will give both IE and FF run for its money.

Trying to get on the Acid3 test but site keeps getting timeouts. Probably overloaded because of Chrome testing by all. lol
Chrome is supposed to 100/100 in this test. FF only gets 71/100.

No, haven't tested Java yet (says missing plugin; Sun has to come out with Chrome plugin I guess).
Your avatar has similar speed in IE and Chrome. I think FF always displays little faster framerate than actual for animated gifs. It might be a gif issue as well in your avatar (badly formatted framerates or something).
I don't see any difference in framerates my GIF between browsers.

Interesting. Will have to test a bit more to be able to comment. The fact that it's still in beta doesn't allow the critic to flex her muscles much though.

neither of them is revolutionary concept by google, IMO. they have been in the comp sci ever since OS was developed. Yes, I definitely give credit to google for using them in browser. And, of course, I like the fact that "someone" is at least giving javascript some treats what it deserves. As for the multi-process vs multi-threading, both have some pros/cons. Only time can tell if this multi-process thingy is the best approach or the other. Either way I certainly welcome. Will keep my finger crossed! Happy browsing

I didn't mean revolutionary in general. And I am well aware of multi-thread/multi-process. I architect and design enterprise level applications for a living.
By revolutionary I meant in the context of web-browser design. None of the current browsers operate in multi-thread; there might be some threading in some minor activities but overall whole browser context is one single thread per tab.
Chrome not only works on independent process per tab, but also has built in process manager. All of these are revolutionary concepts in terms of web-browser designs.

Gawd, that comic was awful to read. The google programmers are full of themselves. It would have made an awesome inspiring read if I were 18 though.

Tabbed browsing itself is a relatively newer concept. So I'm not surprised that Chrome is built around handling the multiple tabs more efficiently.
I was using the browser right now, and noticed that it made an effort into displaying the Flash content even though it couldn't find flash on my computer. Other browsers would have crapped out.
The VM for JS is quite innovative I must say.
At the center of all this, I see that they are trying to popularize Ajax.
While typing right now, I just realized that it also has built-in dictionary support.

Depends on how you rate it. To me, a beta product by one of the largest software companies in the world must meet a few things: good interface, stability, performance, and so on.
If it froze for one of the users within the first minute of usage, I must say that the designers for Chrome made Google look more like an amateur company.

Lol; great googling. I missed the JavaScript VM there, but I am sure M$ will copy it in no time as well. Anyway, as far as process per tab; I was referring to current generation browsers.
And, indeed by God's grace it is great for me.
