Ash made 2 runs after facing 9 balls then got out by playing the same silly shot he does all the time... but he got out to a good ball so don’t really blame him however he should’ve contributed more.. one thing though he seemed very relaxed i think that's where he got caught...

haha, after all the games they made him sit out, i guess he had no intentions of making them win, so he decided to just chill out and practice for test cricket! and after 9 balls, he figured this was too boring, so he decided that he would try out his trademark shot.... and so he did!
Shaabash Ash and Mash! Fazilder shathe fazlami kora bhalo!! I like

Much to our collective anxiety, our "talismanical" keptin remains the best probable hope for a Tiger's victory. Eid Al Ashraf time again, hopefully. So no tenshon, no chinta.
I think this song, like all cryptic endeavors, is packed with parables and allegorical references to the turbulent marriage between Mohammad Ashraful Matin and his fans. The question is, who is Nantu ghotok? Enjoy:

Ash has been loved by me since this little dynamo scored his maiden century in SL. Some of his fans have a love/hate relationship with him depending on his performance, but for me, he still has that charismatic pull which can now be taken over by Sakib who is so deserving.
Ash has been out of competiive cricket for a while, since joining the IPL, so it will take some time for him to get back into form. I hope he fires when it really matters.

Being mesmerized by this song I got to thinking who could be that inevitable Nantu Ghotok? Is it Dav Whatmore or the BCCI? Is it Sachin himself?
Well after loads of brainstorming the only probable choice came out to be DW.

Do you believe you have underachieved as a player as you have so much talent?
Who was your cricketing idol as a child?
Whose best Bowler/Batsmen you have faced?
What would you rate as your greatest ODI/Test inns?
thanks, T_E these are very very good questions!

Thanks Mijan bhai...I'm also a member there with the same nick...PP is doing interviews regularly which BC is not that much. I'm missing this from BC.

1) You have spent 3 days at Duse berry Masjeed, How that help you? Are you planning to spend more in future?
2) What's your planning regarding personal life? What's your thought about marriage?
3) Your talent is acceptable by all, for your consistency it's all mental issue. If you agree. How are you preparing your self to have a strong and sound mental attitude towards your batting?

Doesn't matter. Still selectors will select him for the Indian test series in December 09; so will the blind fans here at BC while making their squad.

for the first time, i'm glad ash failed...hopefully he gets booted and then either we get a better player or he comes back better. preferably the latter, but at this stage i highly doubt he's the minimum class to play international cricket.

well i think he should still be given a go in all 3 ODIs, i think he's a better ODI player, and we've seen him often shrug off dire test performances with a gem of an ODI innings (and by dire i mean averaging 5 in the Test series).
but his test place is gone, as far as i am concerned. and at least one full season of averaging 40-50 in the NCL is what he needs to do to get back into the side. he just does not have it either physically or mentally right now.
if he does well or well enough in the ODI series, then he should become an ODI specialist similar to what aftab is/was.
BD cricket will be the better for it.

why? why should he be given 3 chance in ODI? based on what? tell me something else other than an Eid is long due. i'm so sick of hearing pplz defend ash. seriously cut the crap. he's gotta go period. the last time he scored a 50 in ODI was 9 Novemeber, 2008. and since than this is what he scored 5, 18, 26, 13, 4,5,3..

The fans should let go of him, not just because they must, but also for his own sake. The man has a hard time reaching double digits these days - spare him the misery and drop him. Let him figure his game out in domestic cricket - give him an opportunity to revive himself. Playing him in the ODIs will simply hurt his confidence further.
