I've read the report, seems the English scared the pants off of Asoka, by appealing loudly. I bet the Pakis knew the trick also.

I never understood how a TEST umpire could feel intimidated ??

What could happen to him ?? The bowling team can shout all they want till their throats bled red (or is it blue for the english ??), but you just keep on with business.

Also, any off-field tactic by the bowling team to discredit an umpire for just enforcing cricketing laws can easily back-fire. Any strong minded person would not let that translate into on-field scare tactics.

About Bangladesh...this is the 2nd time in recent weeks that we are lodging a complaint. And like the first time (Rashid Latif case), I strongly believe that we had to ! I just hope that others don't try to misuse these actions by branding our team as a bunch of whiners.

Pundit, I agree with your opinion about complaining. If we were able to bring the bat to the ball more prodigiously ( a couple of centuries, may be), none of these would have mattered. For the most part, all teams live with 1-2 bad decisions in a match. With Asoka, obviously he gets intimidated. Secondly, he had back to back bad decisions against us. As we get better, and start getting wins, we also will learn to take these incidents gracefully.
