Notes:

* batting ratings do not include 'not outs' as a stat booster
* SN and TI really helped themseleves to relatively weak bowling attacks to pad their stats.
* none of the bowlers figures went down, but mash and razzak couldn't cash in as well as i thought they would
* riyad's bowling was omitted by accident, i will add him next time (after Pak series)
* Ash and Aftab also took advantage, but couldn't exploit it as well
* Sakib's rating has been plummeting for some time now...soccer20reverse's curse lives

good to see ash go up in ratings...he has been notorious for failing to take advantage against minnows. however that is changing. his 67* against kenya and 60 against canada in 2006 and 2007 show that he is at least appreciating that aspect of cricket.

no problem; it is my pleasure.

since you are new here, you may not be aware of exactly how the WEIRs are calculated.

here is the introduction:

I dont agree that Not outs increasing stats, playing through an innings is very important even in one day

i agree...the average is a meaningful stat because it gives the number of runs a player will score before being dismissed. hence a tail order batsman with many not outs and say an average of 25, can still say that he is a decent batsman because he will, on average score 25 runs per dismissal. it might take 5 innings, it might take 10, but he'll score 25 before getting out.

however, most people, myself included, thing of average score per innings when we hear "batting average". hence, i have decided to drop not outs as a "stat booster".

IMO, the actual arithmetic mean of runs scored per innings played, is a more important indicator of what you will actually get. tail enders of course get shafted, which is why we have the present definition of batting average.
