Banglacricket interview series with ex-Bangladesh Captains : An interview with Habibul Bashar
You are aware that BanglaCricket is running a series on interviews of ex-Bangladesh captains. As part of the initiative, we are happy to present the interview of Habibul Bashar, our most capped Test player and also the highest run scorer in both forms of the game.
The interview will be published simultaneously on both Cricinfo and BanglaCricket on 2nd April 2008 (tomorrow).
In the interview he shared his thoughts about the fight-back to earn national recall, captaincy, age factor of Bangladesh cricket, the tenure of Dav Whatmore and the future of Bangladesh as a Test nation.
As usual, the BanglaCricket version will be a bit more detail than the Cricinfo one. So, don't forget to check both sites to get the complete look of this very special interview.
Hope you will enjoy the interview.

Thanks. Just make sure you ask how did he like Babu bhai's classic Thada interview where he is featured as a prime player beside Ashraful and RI.

I am tired of seeing Bashar bashing in this forum.
I didn't want to create yet another Bashar bashing thread.
I hope you understand.

Has he formally declared a retirement from the international cricket? I know he was dropped from oneday team. Havn't heard, Has he atleast retired formally from ODI? or he is still working on getting his form back to return in ODI team?
He has done a lot for our cricket, we can never forget that.
I'm sure He will get much more respect, when he formally announces retirement from international cricket.
Thanks Miraz, waiting for it.

You are welcome.
Nope! He hasn't retired from any form of cricket. He is trying to earn a national recall. He has no plan to retire in immediate future.

Miraz Vai,
don't tell us tomorrow it is an April fool Joke. However if I am wrong then apology in advance. Though I did not agree your reasoning for not giving us the chance to question him, I understand your logic for the abuse he received both pre and post WC. He is only true batsman of Bangladesh and truer gentleman. if you met him please convey my personal gratitude for the wonderful memory he provided us.

For those who have missed the opportunity to ask a question.
I will take another interview of Habibul Bashar after his official retirement from International cricket.
I will definitely ask for questions for that interview.
Probably we have to wait for another year or two.......

We have short memory. Agreed!! Does he have short memory too?
Ask him to describe his feelings against Australia at Cardiff. To best of his recollection. From the very beginning and he must be very honest. When they bat. Then what went through his mind with a 250 on board. Did he think it was possible? May be few quotes from Watmore at lunch. What he said to his troops? Then Bd batting. Did he do Allah Allah, just like we do when Bd bats? What did he feel when he got out? What did he think when Ash got out?
Which is a bigger achievement to him.
1) Test win against Zim.
2) Win against Australia.
3) Win against India (since they were preparing for a long outing at WI most probably a berth at the finals) in the WC.
4) Win against SA in the super eight. Pura dhunai disey.
What? you thought I would ask.... naa, I am not that bad a person.
Since most of the ex-captains are getting interviewed I would like to see Khaled Mashud answer some questions.
