The truth is, as the newest test playing nation, we are going through the toughest time of preparing ourselves for the ruthless challenges the game offers at the highest level. The mismatch between our aspectation and the preparation at times put us down. But look, we just got rid of an worthless coach and Dav had only days not weeks to train our boys due either to a tight schedule or to rain. Hopefully at the end of this series training will resume at full scale. Who can score high marks in SSC without preperation?

What has the coach got to say?

I hope this is it. Dave should voice his inner opinions a bit more. Now is the time to let out those grievances. C'mon don't tell me everything has been smooth going for the coach. Tell Sujon what you really think Dav.

Default Get a grip!

We played a superior team...much superior! we put up a real good fight in 7 out of the nine days of test cricket that we played...and had about 2 bad days...its too early to judge anything...The series isn't over, and to go on a witch hunt now in the middle is plain suicide. The performance in this test just about removes any chance that complacency may creep in. That might not be such a bad thing after all.

Its important for us fans not to lose perspective, and as a result look and sound so pathetic. We shouldn't forget that just before the start of the series we were predicting Englad totals of 450 for 5 declared from a side that featured the likes of Vaughan, Trescothick, Hussain, Butcher and Thorpe. What a tall order!!! A few members of this team have really postive memories of the sub-continent. The result, however, was markedly different. None of the batsmen could establish any sort of dominance over our team despite our "meagre" bowling resources. That speaks volumes. Hussain played one of his famous reguard innings in the second test which could rival any of his other ones, and like all others this one seemed a plain bore to watch as well. But that in itself is a compliment to our team and its fighting abilities. In fact almost all the good innings that the English played were under some trying circumstances...which had been imposed by our team!!! Granted the last two days of test cricket this season were not the best. But things start to go wrong they do so in real "freight train" proportions. After some poor batting in our first innings and superb bowling by Johnson, The English just slammed the door shut. We had the misfortune of having Mashrafe injured which left our bowling exposed. I personally believe, Whatmore, in true Aussie style, told the team to play "positive". The run-outs were very frustrating but showed the zealousness of the players to try and hit back. This will hopefully be the last time that happens. The team is still in its early days and so it has not found the proper balance between attacking and consolidating in an innings. Whatmore is concentrating on building the right attitude in the team, and making sure, the lessons learnt along the way are not easily forgotten. Its a hard task.

Lets get real! At this level of cricket, our performance as a team is bound to be inconsistent for a while yet since we are yet to achieve the required physical and mental toughness. But the hardwork is there and as the team matures, and more players make it to the team from domestic structure that nurtures this kind of toughness and consistency, we will obtain results. That may be a while yet. Hopefully not too long. Its not smooth-sailing.. Ever! Whatmore has every right to stay positive, and demand from the fans that they stay positive and support the team. He has worked too hard to get the team to believe in their own abilities, and having a higher self-esteem. Negative attitude is contagious and dangerous. Yes there is a lot of work to do, he is saying, but all is certainly not lost. If a coach does not believe in his team...who will?! If the fans don't support their team, who will?! These are early days! There is light at the end of the tunnel. We should support our team and BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY continue to be POSITIVE.

Sure, we're supporting 'em, we're supporting 'em by bashing 'em.

Otherwise, if we hadn't supported, there wouldn't be anyone to be bashed by, there wouldn't be any Bangladeshi fan, there wouldn't be any banglacricket.com existing.

Sure we support our team. I think even Whatmore knows that. Consider this, may be, just may be, he is trying to say, raving and ranting, and going insane with grief will not SUPPORT the team's cause at the moment.

Still we have a big problem that caught sight of me.When big team creat pressure on us our batting side colapse down.We have none to creat pressure on the opposite bowler. This should be change. If not then we get same result (last test).

What happened in this match is WE (our batsmen) blew their chances. Yes, England would have won no matter what but if our players playedto their potential as they did in Pakistan and in Australia, we should have been able to post 250 in both innings. It was a batting wicket and our players were out playing rash shots, so the blame (if we must) lies squarely with he batsmen.

Guys dont feel bad... things can go wrong... Which was the case in the last test... Our team was performing well over the last 2 series... Cut them some slack... Bashing them is no good...

Think abt something... it hurts so bad cause we know our team can do better... a few months back we had worse defeats and we didnt really raise many eyebrows... it didnt hurt like this then... Our team has improved and thats the fact... I am being an optimist here (something totally against my character) and it wud be nice to see more people sharing my views...
