Default Irfaan Pathan of Ind U-19 takes a hatrick against BD U-19

Need I say more? Bangladesh National team at first faces a hat-trick during the world cup off the first 3 balls of a match - of Bangladesh's innings, and now Irfaan Pathan, an Indian U-19 player takes a hat-trick off the last 3 balls of Bangladesh U-19's innings.

Which all suggest that besides applying Dave Whatmore as the national team's coach, the rest of the administrative policies of BCB in Bangladesh cricket is at the worst of its times.

Why blame the adminstrators only? Why not blame the players also? Nafis has been an abject failure in captaining. Batting was poor, bowling was poorer! If a boeler gives 5 wides in an over then the administration is not to blame. He needs some kick in his ***. These players were provided with a lot of investment (may be there was some lack of facilities); but the return was sooooo poor that it can't be blamed on the adminstration/management only. The players should take some blame too.

Default don\'t blame them bcb for everything.

I think the players should take all the blame on this one. BCB is spanding a lot of money and manpower getting them ready for the world cup, the team wasn't patched up in a day, heck, they even got to play matches in Sri Lanka and a three day match against England. What else can you ask the admins to do ? It's the boys who played horribly and lost.

How is it the player fault? The whole BCB is corrupted with politics right now. Kafi Khan was the Captain of this team. They drop him and make Nafis the captain who already lead a blunder last time in U-19. They don't pick the top pacer in the team. One of best batsman Kafi khan is not in the team. Even Enamul their best spinner is not in the team. I don't even know if there is a relation between akram khan being selected the manager and Nafis the captain.

They select a rookie coach like Richard Mackinas instead of a great choice like Kepler Wessels.

There are many things happening in BCB now. Specially since BD turned around in Australia and Pakistan. Many matobbors are born.

This team had not much to fight with.

Even if the best bowler and the best batsmen are not available........it does not mean that loosing badly in three consecutive matches are purely adminstrators fault! These players has been given a lot of chances, even played against England and after that if that is what they can perform......then these players are crap! They will loose to Nepal (last WC U-19) again, no matter whatever facilities are provided to them! Players score 0, 1, 2, 3 and that's adminstrators fault! Please let me see who believe Kafi khan is better than Aftab, Nasif, Nazimuddin! A bowler bowls five wides in an over and that's adminstrators fault! Selectors might have changed one/two players but their performances are soooo abject that blaming that entirely on management does not make any sense. Not a single player complained about facilities...everyone said we are very well prepared! Even CAB U-17 can beat our National U-17, that shows where our players stand! CAB does not give these players better facilities than BCB. Unless players are dedicated and plays with heart and pride it won't improve...........As a nation we have shown very little determination and pride of late.........So expecting that from the players might be tooooooooooo much. By the way I am not in anyway saying BCB is a very good organization and it is running the show very well! Contrary to this I think BCB is a corrupt organization full of self-indulging "shubhida badi"

When things are not done right, you get dissatisfied players. Also, they get distracted. We all know what happened last time Nafis captained. The whole team had a mutiny. You can't understand how a mutiny lead to poor performence of a team?

Many many things are happenning in BCB now, you don't whats going in the team other than poor selection. By the way, having 2 top bowlers would make a big difference in the first 2 matches. Even if we scored the same, the opposition scores would be lot lower, might even be less. That we will never know.

Here is a simple example. Before WC, SA was hot favorite. Right before the WC started, players started talking about Hanse and contraditions occured. The star loaded team sucked so bad, if didnt even make it to super six.

When problems exist in the team and administration, performence takes a dive.

It just isnt right... 34 all out is beyond any excuse... BCB has to come to some sense after this performance otherwise the dream of becoming a good cricketing nation in the future will just remain a dream...

And how can all the batsmen suck like this??? 34 all out... I am saying it over and over again and I still cant believe it...

Default This thread is For those who think that players sucked

Can you give a few names among those playing eleven who should not represent Bangladesh National team anytime soon?

We already know that Nafis Iqbal has already been selected and will play as opener for BD in ODIs EVEN AFTER SUCH POOR PERFORMANCES in Pakistan.*

What about the other players?

*I think that Whatmore could decide not to include Nafis at this moment, doesn't matter how badly we need an opener. On the other hand, we are sucking bad at the International stage for the senior team also, especially at the opening position. So Whatmore may have no choice but to try out Nafis, since there is not many alternative players available.

Default that\'s how bd team is ....I don\'t see any improvements...

I feel so low to even talk about cricket and declare myself as Bangladesh Cricket fan...it's the players, management and everything all together....the problem is if I say anything now..ppl will get me and tell me to shut up...but the truth is our players mentalities are different and also some players lack dedication and always think about their own performances. If India, Pakistan, Srilanka can win why can't atleast give a good fight...why putting so much shame to a country... shameless

Moniruzzaman will be considered as a middle order batsman, I don't know why, but that's what the papers say. I guess that his batting technique is not suited for an opener just like Rafiqul Islam's (who is a specialist opener in Bangladesh in first class games, but he could not handle a fast bowling of Shaun Pollock & the Co. of South Africa during Bangladesh's tour of South Africa.

Nafis has seldom (he does good in the longer version) done anything worth mentioning in the one day matches for the youth sides. Same goes for pretty much all of the players. Even when they went to Sri Lanka, they only started to win the longer matches after getting butchered in the one day series.

I thought the Sri Lankan coaches were doing a decent job (we played better under them - except for h defeat against Nepal) but BCB desided to get a new coach. I won't blame the coach for the 34 though. They only repeated the ckless performance by the senior side in the second innings.

As for Nafis' captaincy. I think he has had enough chances in captaincy.

i have nothing to say.i was stuck when i saw BD U-19 was sucked out for 34. thats crap!..we should blame players 1stand then BCB for their shameless poor performance. i am not saying that BCB is doing well and they should be out of blame. but look at our players individual performance!!! nafis iqbal, he is called for the national team, take a look at his score in three match (9 , 4, 9) in pakistan. i wonder what he can give us in national team!!

Fahmida, Rafiqul did not even get a chance to open in SA. He played in the lower middle order in the 2nd test. I am not saying he is good.........but no body gave him any opportunity to see if he can handle the new ball. What was the point of selecting him in the first place if everyone is sure that he can't handle the pace! The whole of india finds it dificult to find an opener who can play well in SA/Aus. So it is natural that players in Bangladesh will find it difficult too. Anyway......good point raised by Tehsin.....performance in test should not be mixed with performance in one dayers!

I thought Rafiqul played in the last one day match against SA? That's how I know that he can't handle short / bouncy balls off fast bowlers, as I've seen him bat - only a few balls (not too many) on probably BTV.

And as far as I can remember BTV didn't show the test series live.

I have to check that out that he played in the tests, not in the one dayers.

I did not know about the one day opportunity he got. But anyway, I will never judge a batsmen from a 5 ball innings. I noticed he batted for 44 balls in the first innings of the test match (he batted in the lower middle order). I have not seen him bat at all. But my point was totally different. If you select a player give him some opportunities. Because selection for the national team should only come after the selectors are convinced that the player has certain amount of potential. discarding him after one opportunity is mindless to say the least.
