Michael Vaughan and Paul Collingwood step down as England Test and ODI captain
Michael Vaughan has announced his resignation in a press coneference today. He will be available for selection as a batsman.
It has been also announced that Paul Collingwood has stepped down from England ODI captaincy.
Probably England is going back to one captain policy.
Who is going to be the next England captain?
My vote will go to Andrew Strauss or bring back Rob key.

Strauss is good leader. He proved that when Vaughn was injured but stupid England selectors did not give him the captains arm band during Ashes tour down under

Now I salute M Vaughn. This is what I call integrity. He suffered from terrible run drought and team performance was going down too.
So, he stepped down. He didn't want to remain in the team just as Captain.
Why Collingwood resigned?

Collingwood explains resignation
|
Collingwood led England for just 24 one-day internationals
|
Paul Collingwood said his failure to cope with the demands of being England one-day captain left him with no choice but to step down from the position.
The Durham all-rounder, who is banned from England's next three one-day matches for his team's slow over rate, succeeded Michael Vaughan in June 2007.
"I've found the extra workload to be very difficult," said Collingwood. "I feel the captaincy diminished my ability to perform for England across all forms of the game." Collingwood took over from Vaughan after England's dismal showing at the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean.

My guess, KP will be the next leader. Vaughan is a good leader... bad for England that he is not in a good form. England might need to wait till Cook gets the chance after years who will be a very good captain for England.

Michael Vaughn probably singing in his bathtub at the moment:
"only yesterday...i am not half the man i used to be.. seems so far away"
nonetheless, he will remain one of the Best test captain England, even the world will have produced for a long time.

I will simply go for KP to be the next captain cause he is currently the only player in English team who can excel in all forms of cricket.

I think there was some the under the table discussion with the Selectors and Capitano Vaughan. May be after the 2nd test some barometers were established. End of the day perfomance counts. Good luck to the SAan. May he bring smiles to the English (Deep down I think he (KP) is deceiving himself). Has it been five years he came to England?

Vaughn's resignation was expected although he should have done it after the last test. I was a little but perplexed with collingwood's decision. I thought england was heading in the right direction with ODI (although they were roughed up by NZ). still i think KP will be a good captain. let's see how he does in ODI.
