Nazimuddin injured - Out for 6-8 Weeks

Nazimuddin was hoping to nail down a place in the Bangladesh ODI team during the tour of Australia © AFP
Nazimuddin, the Bangladesh opener, will be out of action for six to eight weeks after tearing a tendon in his left ring finger. The injury occurred during the pre-match warm-up as Bangladesh prepared for their first practice match in Darwin ahead of their three-game ODI series against Australia.
The injury is a major blow for Nazimuddin, who wanted to use the tour to press for a permanent place in the team after initially being left out of the squad due to poor form. He was a late inclusion, added to the group less than a week ago when Shahriar Nafees pulled out of the trip to concentrate on his studies.
The problem is so severe that Nazimuddin cannot hold a bat and x-rays and attention from an orthopedic surgeon revealed that his hand will need six to eight weeks in a splint. He will fly out of Darwin on Wednesday and the team has requested a replacement player.
Bangladesh's first warm-up game in Darwin was against the Australian Institute of Sports on Monday. A further four practice matches follow before the first of three ODIs at Marrara Oval on August 30.

According to Tigercricket.com report, its Rokibul who hurt his finger (BDNEWS24.COM)
Quote:
The quality of training was helped by the arrival of net bowlers from local club sides and atleast a couple of them packed enough pace to keep the batsmen on their toes, according to a report filed by tigercricket.com, the official website of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Balls wheezed past the nose regularly and Roqibul Hassan was rattled by a lifter from Nazmul Hossain and had to administer ice on his fingers. Nevertheless all the batsmen have looked in good touch and have batted confidently in the nets ahead of Monday's first warm-up game against the Australian Institute of Sports (AIS).

I'm totally against Rakib opening. He's fine where he is. Leave him there. Junaid can open if need be.

such a shame for Nazim. I mean it's true i don't like him and i can't stand him and i think he is a freak of nature who slogs in the 2nd over!!! but i do hope he recovers, poor thing.
As for who shall replace? then i think Zunayed is daa MAN! I wouldn't mind seeing Tamim & Ash open though.

There is no point wasting a slot on a slowpoke (Mehrab) who is unfit for ODI, or on an out of form/confidence batsman (Zunaed). I say let Farhad (one of the cleanest hitters from Bangladesh who has some experience playing as a top order batsman in domestic leagues) play the pinch hitter role, at least he won't create pressure on Tamim to score faster. Having Farhad to open will open up another middle order position so that we can accommodate both Alok and Riad in the team.
My team would be -
Tamim
Farhad
Ashraful
Rokibul
Sakib
Alok
Riad
Dhiman
Razzak
Mashrafe
Shahadat/Nazmul

Yeah, it will indeed be very interesting if Nafis Iqbal replaces Nazim. I saw his couple of matches in the recent NCL and he looked pretty good to me. Although not sure about is his current situation, but if he is fit then i will be more than happy to see him in the squad and also open with Tamim which will bring a brotherhood bonding in our opening slot.
