Mushfiq zindabad
Now here is one player who have shamed a lot of fan (me being on of them) for doubting his abilities. I always thought him as mediocre but he turned out to be our best ODI allrounder after all. Maybe Sujon needs to stop running his mouth and learn from Mushfiq a little.
Mushfiq - don't know if you cn do any better but for this series, we were certainly a class above the majority of your teammates. Keep on proving us wrong brother.

Since I wrote that:
Mushfiq 2-0-2-1
Had Solanki caught by Pilot for 1 and Eng is standing at 8 for 1 after 4.4 overs.

I really liked Mushfiq's run-a-ball batting today. He was our man of the match for sure!
what was up with sujon's strange bowling rotations - it was painfully obvious we were a pacer short yet again.

Mushfique came into today's match with a thigh injury. Still he was our top scorer of the match plus took most number of wickets plus bowled his full quota of 10 overs on the trot, for which reason (for coming into this match with an injury beforehand) he could not go off the field, not allowed to go off the field and a substitute replacing him for more than one or two overs.
I am worried for him, this injury might cause him to miss the next Zimbabwe series. Lets wait and see if this injury was bad or an OK one.
About his batting - I don't remember how he got out or how he struggled with the bat in the last Zimbabwe series, I just want to advice all of you that what we've seen so far of him were in the sub-continent, and we still don't know how he will fare in the bouncy tracks. Now talking about bouncy tracks, the Chittagong wicket - both test and the ODI wicket were bouncy, and the 2nd ODI Dhaka pitch was also somewhat bouncy. Well, let us not be too proud of him too early, that's all.

Line & Length means a lot

The Bangladesh attack kept things tight, but only Rahman posed any real threat, and he trapped Vaughan lbw in the 16th over with one that moved in off the seam a touch and hit Vaughan plumb in front for 29 (66 for 2). Rahman bowled with good pace and movement, but after he finished his spell of 2 for 29 from his 10 overs, the game was all but over.

Tehsin:
Why had you initially thought that Mushfiq was... "I always thought him as mediocre...? "

Well Mushfiq never proved to be a really useful player before the last 2 series... I am not talking domestic cricket cause I have no clue abt that but the guy wasnt an extraordinary player in the International scene... well come to think of it none of the BD players are... He is a ordinary batsman and a pretty ordinary bowler... or atleast that was the impression of him most of us had before...
The main thing is he showed us what he is made of... that the small amount of runs (30-40) that he scores usually is the highest individual score in the team... And he he works real hard for those runs while the others give their wicktes away in gift wraps on the other end.... and he is bowling with some purpose but he has a long way to go to become a serious threatning bowler... but he will get there... But as we are short of fast bowlers we have to give him the new ball... he is more like a first change kind of bowler... if we had more resources (as in more new ball bolwers, proper ones) I would not give him the new ball... but used him on the trot with Rafique and someone else in the middle overs... But he still has a lot to imporve... and he is going on the right direction...

The only, ummmm ONLY reason Mushfiq had to open was because we went into all the matches a pacer short thanks to our beloved captain khaled mahmud shujon- who apparently isn't going to retire. Bless his little self-centered soul.

His goofy smile belies his toughness and his aggresion as a cricketer...this guys is a real fighter. Hats off to him! He played out of his skin! He is the closest thing to a "performing" allrounder we have now.
