IMO, this should be the batting order:
1. Tamim Iqbal
2. Zunaed Siddique
3. Rajin Salah
4. Mohammed Ashraful (c)
5. Shakib Al Hasan
6. Naeem Islam
7. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk)
8. Mehrab Hossain Jr.
9. Abdur Razzak
10. Mashrafe Mortaza
11. Shahadat Hossain

i think it's a big mistake not to bring in robin and taking mehrab instead! i fear mehrab will fail and robin would have been potent no matter how spin friendly the ctg divisional pitch is. robin is a lot reliable with the bat as well. just my opinion. i could be wrong!

I agree, this line up is too spin-heavy. I know that's not the intention (it's supposed to be batsman heavy), but the end result is the same.
If aftab was around, he could offer some variation with his medium pace. As it is we'll be over-reliant on very similar slow left arm bowlers. no leggies in the side (other than ash), so there's no variation really. We needed a decent medium pacer (rasel or robin) to balance the side out. As it is, mortaza and rajib will have a heavy workload.
This attack might be ok for spin-friendly dhaka, but is it prudent for Chittagong?
The BD management obviously think NZ are suspect against spin, but I think that's being naive. they have two great spinners (patel and vetori) to practice against, so they can't be that bad. they're not South africa...

To me, it's 2 and half bowler - according to Razzak's previous performance.
Nowadays, test teams are trying to get 5 bowlers in XI and we are planning to.....can we call this a plan...a complete disaster is waiting.

The worst thing will be...if NZ wins the toss and bat first.

Don't know why feeling like this.
Prediction:
Superman: 50
Zunaed: 13
Saleh: 11
Keptin:23
Moyna: Golden Duck
GoBoy: 7
Jnr: Golden Duck
MaMu: 40
Lalla: 20
Sharapova: 0*
Extra: 16
Total: 180
Hope Tigers prove me wrong. Also I hope Ash win the toss and bat first, and make most use of the pitch.

Going with 3 bowlers in a test is stupid. If we have a huge batting collapse, I don't see Mehrab rescuing us. If somehow top and middle order bat well Mehrab will be useless at #8 anyway. Mehrab hardly adds anything to the team in terms of bowling.

Let's see how the real cricketers deal with bouncers from Kiwis? My prediction is that Bd players will piss in their pants when they see Martin run in to bowl and will get out trying to pull his full pitched deliveries. The dreaded flashblacks of Ash and Kapali trying to pull Mitchel Johnson's good length balls still give me nightmare. I just hope there's no repeat of these stupid shots.

But, You and I ( at least I did ) both knew that they will stack the line -up with batsmen. Leaving Enam gave me the indication that they would go for this perceived safety first approach. Even Ash told yesterday that they will try to draw the test! What a defeatist attitude! I think they hope that Mehrab will provide around 20-30 runs, and to them, that will be a measure of success. I knew what team they will pick. Now, lets see what order they come in. I bet you they send Rajin at no.3. Pretty easy to decipher these idiots..

True spitty, #8 can't achieve anything if 6 other specialist batsman fails. a total waste.

Nera ek bar'i bel tolai jai, ar BCB? bar bar!!
Didn't we test that "stacking up with batsman" theory before in ODIs? Didn't we open with Farhad (bowling) one time and had 10 batsman/alrounder and a wicket keeper? What was the score? Pathetic I remember. I hope I don't see Mushi's kebla kanto hashi. That just annoys me after he gets out.

This is perhaps the weakest New Zealand side that we will have faced in a decade. Their batting is in shambles, their bowling nothing to be wary of. It's high time that we put our heads down and bat it out. Unfortunately (and much to my chagrin at that), we are only playing three specialist bowlers when we could have played four; an extra batsman, as experience gained from following the team for a while suggests, will make no bloody difference.
In any case, I hope we can bowl them out - at least 1.7 times if not twice - with what we have.
