weldone boys. I enjoyed BD batting, did not miss any ball!! If we can fight decently in Chittagong then we are safe for the time being. Need some sleep to get ready to follow from the 3rd.
Happy new year to all of you!

Sri Lanka in Bangladesh, 2008-09
Bangladesh fails to make history despite valiant fight
31 December 2008
Bangladesh fought hard on the fifth day but fell 107 run short of the mammoth 521 run winning target at the Sher E Bangla Stadium in Mirpur today. Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Ashraful scored ton while Shakib Al Hasan struck a fighting 96 to raise Bangladesh's hope of an improbable win, but their departure left the tail with too much to do and Sri Lanka finally managed to bowl the Tigers out for 413 runs.

Ash is like our SL basher kinda lik Abir was our minnow basher LOL.
But I believe if Ash can play with the temperment he had on Day 4 consistently, he will be a successful test batsman.

I think after this performance (obviously if it continues) more teams will like to play test cricket with our boys which is a huge plus and this could very well get our test cricket better and better with time!!

This is one of the best test matches I have ever seen, we fought till the very end and thats what I think we should do in order to become an elite team.

As you all know, I am one of Ash's strongest supporters, I am so happy for him and sincerely hopes that he gets rid of his demons, and do not continue batting like a teenager. incidentally, he was a young teenager when i saw him made his maiden test cenury against Murali and Vass, and there he batted as a matured and experienced batsman, even thought he looked like a precocious kid.
I was always hopng that he shows his true talent all the time, but more ofter he fails, but when he gets going, one can see his class, and a joy to watch.
I feel so sad when all the fans here, except for a few who bashes him and wants hm removed from the captaincy. Mash is not captain's material, very temperamental, only Sakib and Mushy are capable, but too young, and if captaincy is thrust upon one of them too early, it will ruin their career. Captaincy is not an easy job, he was appointed in 2007, at least 3 yrs are nedeed to mould a captain and Inshallah, Ash will survive, so pls, lets give him some support.
