Rest Day: Effects on The Toss and Match
As most of you know by now, we will host the first test match in over seven years that contains a rest day. The rest day, after the 3rd day of the match, comes as a result of the election. How do you think this affects the match? Do you think it helps the fielding side more, or does it help the batting side refocus? I think it would be great chance for us to regroup if we are in any sort of trouble (eg.facing innings defeat) after the end of the third day's play. I think we should bat first, so that at the end of the third day we'll either be batting our 2nd innings, or about to bat..
Assumption- We got all out in the morning session of 2nd day, Lankans then finish their 2nd innings just after tea on 3rd day. So, what do u guys think? Would the rest day have any effect? I think its better that our batsmen are fresh after fielding in a Lankan innings likely to last close to 140 overs. We may be able to force a draw if we can come in with a fresh perspective after the rest day .

Well, it depends on field condition on the 26th. If pitch is wet due to the foggy condition, then we should field first, I think.
