I'd love to have Mash back for Tests but I'd rather think long term and just have him focus on the shorter forms. Tests would be too demanding for a player that's so injury prone. Think about it, lets say he gets a serious injury from playing a Test match and all of a sudden he's out of ODIs for a long time. It won't be worth it. That being said, Shahadat should not be in the team. Stick with the other pacers we have in the squad. They aren't the ideal options but hopefully with time they'll come good.

He has dispelled notions of any fragility and has show that even without scoring runs he can be the driving force in the team. It represents a big change from what Mushfiqur was perceived as when he took over as captain. His deputy Mahmudullah and head coach Shane Jurgensen, too, helped him"

"Mahmudullah didn't have a great series, personally, but he has had an influence over how the team has fared. The lack of runs didn't force him into a shell, as his bowling has shown. He has been the quietest player in the team so far as media interactions go, but, in Galle and Colombo, one could hear him shout the loudest from the dressing room balcony whenever a bit of cheering was required."

i am divided about playing mash, 10 overs from mash is better then 100 overs from abul, srk rubel combined, but i saw mast in the BPL final..he was struggling to bowl 4 overs, constant cricket in BPL was tough for him, its established that mash cant take load anymore, test cricket might be enough for permanently putting him in the sideline, in short we would kill the only golden goose of pace bowling we have
but on the other hand we could use mash tactfully in the test..say mash bowls with the 1st and 2nd new ball only..say 12 overs a innings..those 12 overs a innings will be more valuable as other fast bowlers cant take wickets with the new ball, and lets say we dont let mash field that much..since he'll bowl only 12 overs we can manage his fielding time so he can bowl without restriction from the cricketing law

yeah unfortunately playing tests would be a bit much for him, even not playing tests he finds it hard to stay on the park. i reckon he should help with a bit of coaching at least while he's injured.
