Its good to see players like Shuvagoto Hom and Robiul Islam being rewarded for good performance in domestic matches. However I can't understand how players like Nasir Faruq, Raihan Arafat and Shafaq Al Zabir can retain their places eventhough they do not have any notable performances in domestic cricket while players like Subashis Roy and other players get ignored. I can understand why Shamsur, Mithun have not been selected as they have a chance of making the T20 squad. I have mixed reactions for this squad.

Mithun was not selected because he took a leave. He has HSC examination coming up and he is busy studying.

sad to see Nadif missing out. He has been pretty consistent this season with Abahoni and Dhaka. Although he is no longer a bowler, his batting and fielding can be vital if he makes it to our ODI squad in the future.

nasir, rony, sajidul, subashis, delwar, nabil, nadimuddin, there seems to be a few players missing (not including mithun, shamsur etc).

Sorry brother dont agree with you. He has been given plenty of chance with academy team and a-team but for some reason he does not seem to play as expected. And as for this DPL season he scored 144 runs with an average of 16 playing 12 innings.

and on NCL one day he did not do that well either

I dont know what is wrong with him.

i think these three has strong back up uncle. raihan arafat seems like a regular in a team and academy team for last 1 yr. he doesnt perform in any form but he is still under good radar. so is nasir faruq.

Come on guys..
We don't have that much of players for all these teams. (U-19, Academy, A-team)
We have an A-team to make to play against Maharashtra remember? That's why selectors selected a few under-performing players for the Academy team. Selectors are trying to make a strong A-team squad.
Besides, Raihan Uddin Arafat is a leg/off spinner. We have very few of them so its always better to give him time to develope.
Nasir also didn't do that bad in the DPL. Averaged over 25. But that's good enough for Academy team at this moment as we don't have enough players to choose from.
Shafaq Al Zabir took 17 wickets at about 30 from 10 matches in the DPL. Is that too bad??

We gotta start somewhere. Think of Kenya, or Ireland. They have a very small pool of players, let alone a pool of talented players. We are gifted with an adequately proportioned pool of players, most of them have the potential to take our national bar of performance higher.
If we don't falter, I don't see why we can't get a ton of 40+ averaging batsmen when BCB is as old as ECB.

Shafaq Al Zabir has 14.09 average and Econ of 3.28 in lsit A, taking 73 wickets. Who has this kind of stats? In 2008/2009 NLC, he took 13 wickets at an average of 13.84 with Econ of 2.90. please check his domestic performance before putting him down.

Academy lost by nine wickets
On the bright side Shuvagoto Hom made a calm 40 in his first ever 4-day game . One to watch out for IMO.
