Looks like he's wising up and learning to just shut up and play. Always better to speak softly and carry a big bat. WTG Keptin Shaab! ...

Had he opened his mouth with the usual jibrish...blah blah blah...it would have got only 2 lines in the media.
Now he didnt, it got a whole article!
Who's the winner?
Actions, not words.

it takes guts not to speak foolishly like others do rather stay calm and avoid unnecessary pressure from media.
I would say he has done it properly besides when he already said the presenter not to ask any questions prior to the function.
But one thing is the most important tht he needs to lead the team as a proactive captain and manage a good performance against big boys. Otherwise, everything done with the media would backfire him.
I wish all the best to Ash and his Co.

Yeah, that's why he gets lapse of concentration so requently. The colour of the sky, the aroma of the air, all rouses the philosopher in him and he starts to think, "In this endless universe, I'm an insignificant man doing an insignifiacnt job. What the hell, get out and contemplate the mystery of life."
After getting out, he snaps back to reality and realizes he's become a real fool, so he smiles a sardonic smile at his inner philosopher, who, in the material world, is just another foo.

It takes one genius to recognise the other one
How about a co-authorship of a book entitled "The Art of Batting" with Ash? It would be a screamer!

Ashraful is more mature off the field. I did not like the Mihir Bose article.

Ashraful was and what is more at first it looked like a terrible snub to one of the minnows of world cricket.
|
The word minnow was uncalled for and also does not apply to one of the top 10 teams of the world. He should have checked the T20 ranking.

the Bangladesh captain, whose team cannot be expected to progress very far, was only there to stand and wait on the recognised powers of the game.
|
His attitude is evident from this quotation.
So, he can say whatever he likes; but the only impression I have is that I wasted my valuable 2 minutes reading his article.

Indians act like BD is nothing.... I mean still they call us minnows??? and even though ICC seeded us as no.8 we are still 'not expected to go very far'?? And i will say it as many times needed, Ash will be the best captain in BD history, he is already showing signs of it.
I just pray for one thing, BD beating India, if we beat india, I will be the happiest person ever. Let it be the big slap in them face, an answer to many of the injustices our cricket team has faced. Let ashraful talk.....let him talk against Ishants/Zaheers.

One more deshi bombastic bash- in the deshi sense of the word- to India on the 6th will force him to reconsider his attitude!

The fact that he requested that no question be asked is a sign of weakness or lack of confidence. He just could have responded to a generic question with generic answer like he did after the SL game. For example, he could say something like this to any question posed to him. "We do not consider ourselves to be minnows or a lowly ranked team. In 20/20 format we can compete with anybody and win some of those. Do not term the ones we win with big teams as upsets. We are a confident bunch and we have the talent and skill to beat anybody in this tournament."

It's a bit redundent now. Only Allah and Ash knows the real reason behind his silence. Lets not act like bangla film kutni buri who finds a conspiracy in everything. He didn't speak, big deal. If that whats his name reporter didn't make such a big deal out of this, it would have slipped off the radar totally.

CI, for all it's fault is the primiere cricket news agency. Why should it concern itself with petty rumour mongering?

CI for all its "premier" position can't even afford to send a reporter to each game. They basically watch off the tv and report on a bunch of these. And CI TV appears to consist of blokes reading out match bulletin with a back-drop of scorecard; we have to troll to all sorts of blogs for high-lights!

You mean nonchalant, that is good in a way. Concentrate on fielding. A good
fielding can turn a T20 match one revolution in one sway.

Mihir Bose sounds like a Bangalee name - what better we can expect.
