Champions Trophy 2009

Do we get to qualify for it? or we are automatically out?

I think automatically out. The format (picking up 1st 8 teams from ICC ODI ranking) didnt allow us to play. But, We were supposed to play. It is ODI, not T-20. Our recent results were not as poor as T20 WC. But nothing to do without watching the tournament.

We are automatically Out!!!
I forget about this. So, the format was created in a way to keep us out of it. Nothing to do but to watch that?

Hope we can be #8 ranked next year and give them the answer.
(Though bad timing to be that much hopeful

)

We just have to win 2 away ODI series against any of those 8 teams and have to be unbeaten in home series (at least 3). Hope this will put us number 8 in ICC ODI ranking.

So Easy!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't it?

We really need to do that much work

Lets forget about Champions trophy, its a less important tournament anyway.

But we should achieve it. This format is made to restrict the weaker teams to play this tournament. We have 2 options.

1. Achieve 8th position in ICC ODI ranking (by winning away series or being unbeaten in home series etc....) OR
2. Play such a cricket that ICC change the format again to allow 10/12 teams in Champions Trophy.

For our T20 WC performance in 2007, we were considered within top 8 teams in T20 International and we have got Ireland with us. WI was considered under Bangladesh, So they were in Group of Death with Australia & Srilanka.

All the buzz now is that the ICC Champions Trophy will be scrapped. ICC is being pressured by India to create a window for more 20/20 games.

I think that it will be a great idea to scrap this competition, the public wants more 20/20 matches.

During ICC championship trophy we can play against Ireland or Kenya or Zimbabwe if BCB though about it.

oh thats bull. I thought it would be top 6 teams automatically in and 7, 8, 9 teams competes for the remaining two positions. I don't wanna see more T20 its stupid game.
