Default Ian Chappell called Bangladesh a spineless (মেরুদন্ডহীন) Team

Hi All

Ian Chappell in an interview to an Indian Newspaper called Bangladesh a backboneless team. I strongly protest to that. How dare he and these guys always stab us from the back. you can read it here.

There is an article by Rafiqul Sharif in CricketTomorrow.com criticising Ian Chappell's ridiculous comments on Bangladesh that Bangladesh is a spineless team and it doesn't matter who there captain is.

I like this one. I think we all should say something against these money fed giants who just looks for opportunities to backbite Bangladesh.

Here is the article: Mr Ian Chappell! Stop talking for money!

Can't agree here Mate. He said lot of things in past and will be in future. He is a former Aussie captain- media needs his interview ...now if you want to open a thread for this then I must say I thought it was just not worth it.

Ian should be familiar with that term - spineless. He is the epitome of spineless.

So much so, that he is the protagonist of the worst, lowest-of-low, cowardly, dark, un-sportsman like event in the entire history of cricket.

If you look up "spineless" in the dictionary, you'll see it says, "See Ian Chappel"

Typical big-mouth aussie.

What did he say wrong?

DO we areally have a backbone? I don't think so. When 2/3 wickets fall during the first 10 overs, there's no one to stand up and score a big innings. All fails under pressure.

Australia have Clarke, Hussey
India have Tendulkar, Dhoni, Gambir, etc
Pakistan have Yunus, Yousuf
SA have Kallis, Smith, Devillers
England have Pietersen, Strauss, Bell, etc
NZ have Taylor
WI have Chandarpaul, Sarwan, Bravo
Srilanka have Sangakara, Jayawardene, Jayasuriya, Murali.

Who do we have? Amader ekjon out hoi to arekjon koyek ball pore out hoye jai.. bowling or batting..we suck in all!!

Performance is important. If our performance is good no one will say like this. According our performance, we deserve it.

Feeling shame when someone make a hursh comments. Doesn't feel shame when we perform bad.

STRANGE.

I can careless if we have backbone or not. In fact, it's better not to have a spine like the sea cucumbers. Here is what Wikipedia has to say about them:

Quote:
Sea cucumbers communicate with each other through sending hormone signals through the water which others pick up.

A remarkable feature of these animals is the catch collagen that forms their body wall. This can be loosened and tightened at will, and if the animal wants to squeeze through a small gap, it can essentially liquefy its body and pour into the space. To keep itself safe in these crevices and cracks, the sea cucumber hooks up all its collagen fibres to make its body firm again.

Some species of coral-reef sea cucumbers within the order Aspidochirotida can defend themselves by expelling their sticky cuvierian tubules (enlargements of the respiratory tree that float freely in the coelom) to entangle potential predators. When startled, these cucumbers may expel some of them through a tear in the wall of the cloaca in an autotomic process known as evisceration. Replacement tubules grow back in one-and-a-half to five weeks, depending on the species. The release of these tubules can also be accompanied by the discharge of a toxic chemical known as holothurin, which has similar properties to soap. This chemical can kill any animal in the vicinity and is one more way in which these sedentary animals can defend themselves.

This is not about what we have! This is about the minnow label getting stuck to us. To play better cricket you need confidence and these comments are obstacles to that.

Tell me what/who is our backbone??

Why would he say that about India? How many games India lost or won? How many we have won?

He wasn't talking about the 20/20 WC only.

That article is full of biased arguments.

Just ignore these stupid Aussies. We know the truth, and someone with eyes closed can't see it. They never give us our due when we perform well. So just flush such comments down the toilet.

He told the truth. We'll have to digest it until we perform. However, he forgot to praise Siddons for this great achievement.

Is it because of the people who talk? or the way we play?

We need to earn it by our game. Why do we always look for sympathy from others?? Why can't we live in the real world? Change it by our abilities if we don't like it.

I don't want to be praised for not playing good. Similarly I don't want to be called spineless team from no where after giving effort.

The team can be not as good as others. The captain can be an asshole, but to call an International test team, is way out of rights.

When you are consistently losing, people will talk like this. Prove yourself by winning some good games. This can be the only practical response to Mr. Choppol.
