I dunt see how ICLers are any better than ash....

And as for the ICLers that are back into national team... these are players such as Bond or Yousuf....

Add up all our ICLers and you wont get a player matching that quality.

Our ICLers are not that good. Its light them going away has hindered some fans common sense and they now see these players as amazing. Remember most were in the nat fold before, and none of them were World Class (can't miss) players back then, and I doubt any of them are now.

Instead of just giving them a free ride, when they have nothing to back them up (Bond, Razzaq, Yousof have at least played really well before), let them ease into the team. Let them play actual 4 day matches (not 20/20). Let them play domestic cricket. Let them at least prove they are worthy of representing Bangladesh on the national stage.

Its funny how these 'Reject' guys are all coming back to internationals (Razzaq, Yusuf, Bond, Tuffey).

Some of the Indian players are also going to be picked up by the IPL. I won't be surprised to see Alok, Aftab and SN making their way there in the near future either.

So to summarize, Alok scoring runs against 2nd stringers makes him a loser but Ash scoring 9 & 6 against a world class WI bowling attack makes him king.
And here comes the Knight of ICL.

Razzak, Bond, Tuffy et el are Hardle a bunch of puchovers. But in an ICL team, only two or three good player exists, the rest are pushovers, no doubt. In T20, only one weak link can end the match, so I won't take Kapali's ICL performance too heavily.

I have been following Kapali since his debut, I know what he is capable of. His ICL performance doen't tell me anything new.

As far as I'm concerned, our Deathly Hallowes has proven how overrated talent is, without application. If AK can comeback based on NCL performance, good for him. If ICL is that good, it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise...

A charlatan will always be foundout in test arena, like Graem Hick, Nick Knight and many others I can't be bothered to name.

Give the boy some time to get that out of his system so that he can concentarte 100% on batting or bowling for that matter.

His not even a go to bowler for BD and picked up two precious wkts when needed.

Let him enjoy the win, get off his back for now.

"Ash probably needs a rest, NOT a kick out."

Bhai chere de ma kede bachi...Sindabader Bura too ar kadh theke namey na... come up with more respectable term we don't care, as long as this dead wood is not occupying a batting slot, I am happy.

Here are some suggestion about "respectable term"...

1) Accomplished Ashrful should be awarded a paid vacation

2) As a special respect to Ashraful's past and present contribution Ashraful should be assigned as an unofficial czar of BD cricket. To serve that role, he should stop playing for the national team, for atleast next one year.

3) As already accomplised Ashraful has nothing more to prove, Ash should take some well deseverd rest for one year or so.

Well they joined ICL hence they are ICLers..... And I know they were in BD team before Ash.

What I'm saying is that some fans are blindly stating, "bring back the ICLers"... Like that will do anything to fix our team. They havn't proven that they can help. Give them some time to prove themselves before bring them in.

Yes I think we can drop Ashraful, he is not wanted and needed in the team. His batting has been pathetic, he should only be picked against the Srilanka and India only. He sucks against other nations in test matches. Right now Ashraful should be replaced by Mehrab Jnr. But i want Nafees in the team even in his last test he was the top scorer for us against South Africa where our Ash mama failed yet again.

Ashraful needs some psychological advice and also needs to perform much better in the domestic circuit.

Okay you biased people just change the name from Ashraful to Rajin/JO/Tushar. Is really 6 and 3 scores to be in the squad? Does performance mean anything to you?

Can't you not see how biased you are?
To you player before the team and you call yourself supporters of BD. Instead of that you need to call yourself Blind supporter of Ashraful. No one can change your perception unless you start changing yourself.

Ashraful is thousand times better than Alok Kapali. If you want to replace Ash, think about someone who is less talented but hard working.

I would keep Ashraful for another six months before giving him a break. Let's see whether he can perform under pressure and without the burden of captaincy. Now the sample size is too small (only one Test) to ask for his head.

Ash's score in last 8 test:

0, 4, 2, 0, 0, DNB, 1, 13, 1, 21, 12, 101, 45, 7, 6, 3.

When people defend Ash they look at 101 and 45 and overlook the remaining scores.

From the drama 'Bus Number', I remember a cliche "চোখ কি হাতে নিয়ে থাকেন?"। আশরাফুল যখন এক অঙ্কের রান করে আউট হয়, আশরাফুলের অন্ধ সমর্থকবৃন্দ মনে হয় চোখ হাতে নিয়ে থাকেন।

Yes I agree with you. Ash needs to be dropped, he is in the team as a specialist batsman not a bowler which some blind fans never understand and are trying to cover his failure with the 2 wickets of the tailenders. How pathetic are the fans? Help Bangladesh win test matches for that let Ashrafool, fool around in the domestic cricket.

Ash's score in last 8 tests are as follows:

0, 4, 2, 0, 0, DNB, 1, 13, 1, 21, 12, 101, 45, 7, 6, 3. [ Average = 14. 4 ]

The word that springs to mind is: pathetic.

Ashraful has played enough tests for us to take his average seriously. I believe he has played around 50 tests and averages 23.

So all things being equal, you can expect him to score 23 in a given innings. He might score a 50 or a 100, but his mean score will still be 23.

This man is a star ? No wonder the team lost almost every match !

2nd test will be his 50th test match. He will be second Bangladeshi player after Habibul Bashar to play 50 test match for Bangladesh.

he's played 49 test matches so far, i would still find it hard to drop him because he's the most likely of the team to score a century despite his inconsistency. if a couple of others like shakib or junaid or rahim can get a century or if tamim can get another one then i'd be much more at ease with dropping ashraful. i do think it's a must to drop him but i have this battle where i keep saying he's the most likely century maker (thus the most likely to make a big score).

as for replacements, well: merhab, naeem, shamsur, NI would be the front runners whilst alok, SN and aftab would come into the fold when ICLers are allowed back into the team.

I think the problem with ashraful is not his ability but his termperament. His batting in the 2nd innings is a good example, he tried to hit the ball straight away and paid the price. Bd needed to lift the RR but there was no need to start with such an aggressive attitude, its a test after all. See how Sakib and Mushfiq played, they spend their time , get accustomed to the pitch and the bowlers and then opened up to play shots.

Same is the case with Kapali, Aftab and many others; none doubt their ability but its their temperament thats in question. We need a batting coach to mentor these players more than anything else.

donno what's people's problem...u got ur wish when he was removed from captaincy...now screaming your lungs out to get him removed from the team...why so much hatred against ash...he just scored a 50 in the practice match where everyone failed....we need experience...be it at any field...u dont see sarwan or chanderpaul or any top batsman from any other country being dropped after playing bad cuz they established themselves...in BD's case only recognizable batsman to the world is ashraful...the hater's might hate hate to accept it but its true...and calling someone VI is INappropriate...it shows that as an individual someone thinks he is inferior than him because he read a couple of books...ash might not have a rich daddy or opportunities like those who call him VI...

I know you are one of most involved foreigners here at BC and you like stats. As we all can see people here calling for Raqibul's head when he scored 32 in two innings and trying to find excuse for Ashraful to stay in the team despite only producing 9 runs. Less than one third of Raqibul's. If even Shakib scores 9 runs in a test match people will call for his head. But Oh 'no. Not Ashraful. He will score a century, a fifty. The key is hope has nothing to do with reality. Have you seen the way he gets out? How do you expect he would do something different? Luck only ride few times. We saw that in T20 as well.

How is this for a stat. 95 innings 15 ducks. 6.33 match per duck. 5 centuries. 19 match between centuries. Last 10 innings no ducks but had a century. What is around the corner waiting for him? Duck or a century? You can figure it out.

I only blame Ashraful may be 10%. The rest falls on the selectors, hyped media and blind fans. May be some blind Board members also. They can be included with the fans as well.

If Mohamadan can kick him out and win with no name players why can't Bd do the same. The no name players did produce better stats.

Wow!! Not you Mo.

Would be fifty and that is why we have to spoil a spot and hurt our team? This hurts me.
