Do we have anyone other than Rubel in the country right now who can hit 90 MPH?

Pace Attack: A Matter of Big Concern?
Yes I would agree that its a BIG BIG concern. in bdnews24 they said Rubel is tired after playing so many games and Rasel as Toothless.
We need to find some FBs with still some tooth left before going to ZIM. ZIM series will be much harder than this one where I am not sure win can win the series without any halp from FBs.

this is the problem, the back-up pacers haven't been properly groomed so if they need to take over they won't be ready. they should have given sajidul and subashis some serious time with the academy and A teams but they haven't given them nearly enough to be ready for international cricket, especially subashis.

He has played a lot of matches and is 23 right now.I wonder why he didn't get a call yet. He has done well for the A team when given chances.
Against Zim A on first match in 2006

delwar hossain is another who should be groomed, he's older but he's been impressive in the few matches he's played. he was one of the ones sent to australia, wonder how that went for him.

Some people had some good suggestions regarding improving pace attack in the long run (bowling academy, faster/bouncy pitch in domestic cricket etc). But what do we need to do in the short run to get Shahadat, Rubel to start performing? They both have decent pace and if the bowling coach can work with them to bowl in the right areas (pitching the ball up in the corridor of uncertainity), we can do much better.
Most other countries will not be as weak against spin as the West Indies second string side.

Someone in this thread has told to come with new plan. But, with my little knowledge about cricket, whatever the plan comes to my mind is definitely old.

We have a busy year ahead. It would be really tough to put up any good fight unless we can find some good genuine pace bowlers. Mash is good for ODI, so is Nazmul. But our pace bowling in test cricket is a real matter of concern as no one is there to who is showing good promise at the moment.
I see some very tough test matches in next couple of months if we are not able to find some genuine pacers.

Warwolf, OK. Between you and me, once Masrafee is back from injury, Australia's fast bowling stocks are frankly worse.

experiment with Dolar, Robin, Rasel, Nazmul and even Shahadat (if he has improved his disclipine) in the Zim series.
I want a good Pace trio formed before the Tri-series and against England & Wales

The progress of many of our quicks has been disappointing. Although i have been a huge supporter of Ramanayake, its time to ask a few questions. He has been with the national team for a while. Yet the bowlers seems to be struggling with the basics. I mean just look at some quicks in Sri Lanka. Kulasekara and Thushara were probably way behind many of our pace bowlers a few years back. Look how far they have come. Kulasekra doesnt have 140 kph pace, nor does he have brilliant variation. He just sticks to the basics and bowls in a disciplined fashion. Cant we ask the same from our guys? Somethings just not right and we need to figure this out. Our batting has improved a great deal, but we are still way behind in the pace bowling department. And we cant rely on our spin forever.

No offense intended - Naved, your threads get red arrows prolly more because of Banglish you use, it's painful to read

Was browsing through the profiles of some Afghan pacers. They seem to have much better fitness compared to Pakis. We can probably get one or two, nationalize and groom them ready in national team.
All countries are sharing players, why not us.

We need to have grass wicket. BCB should ignore club request to have flat wicket. Otherwise we will continue to discus but there will be no outcome.

Grass wickets won't be necessary. But those have to be live wickets, I mean sporting wickets. If you are a good batsman you will get runs. If you are a good pacer you will be wickets and same is true for spinners also.

Sporting wicket is alright but if we want genuine fast bowler than we need grass wicket. Otherwise our captains will never learn how to use a fast bowler. Mashrafe's average in test cricket (41.52) shows that. With having all the quality of a good test bowler he yet to get a 5 wickets in test match. Shahadat did that but his average is also poor 43.69. Our captain doesn't even know how to place field for an in swing fast bowler and out swing fast bowler.
With this kind of wicket we will be another India, who only knows how to waste a talented fast bowler.

I doubt that. We have lack of serious speedy bowlers.
