I do see a good side to it too...Shakib says he is tired and the fact he doesn't play every game keeps him quite relaxed...ipl is an intense tournament and playing every game should bring a lot of pressure, especially when you have a game every two or three days...it's not like he has to prove anything, i would rather NOT have him overused and exhausted

Shakib Ul Haq played last year and got bought at the auction because Dave Whatmore was the coach of KKR. This year there is no Dave Whatmore and so Shakib might not get many chances at all.

As for the Lange dude getting picked over Shakib, maybe the KKR management thought that under overcast conditions the fast bowler could have a bigger impact, as they usually do. So cut the team management some slack.

And why do you guys keep saying this Dev BS. FInally we have a player, scratch that, a Bangali, who doesn't need any extra help. He doesn't need any chachu mammu. His talents are his chacchu-mammu. i wouldnt say that t20 is necessarily a tiring game.

Dude you must be delusional, how can I not know his name. Did you see my favorite player tag? Dave Whatmore definitely helped, period. He said so himself before the auction.

এক দিকে, কুৎসিত ব্যাটিংয়ের ময়নাতদন্ত। অন্য দিকে, সাকিব-আল-হাসানকে খেলানোর দাবি উঠে যাওয়া। ঘরের মাঠে দিল্লির বিরুদ্ধে বিপর্যয়ের চব্বিশ ঘণ্টা পর নাইট শিবিরের ছবিটা এ রকমই।
ইডেনের উইকেট নিয়ে কোনও অভিযোগের জায়গা নেই। বরং টিমের ক্রিকেটারদের মনে হচ্ছে, উইকেট টি-টোয়েন্টির জন্য যে আদর্শ ছিল সেটা বুঝিয়ে দিয়েছেন ইরফান পাঠান। অধিনায়ক গৌতম গম্ভীর সোজাসাপ্টা বলে দিয়েছেন, “কুড়ি রানের মধ্যে যদি তিন উইকেট চলে যায়, আর কী পড়ে থাকে ম্যাচে?” বৃষ্টিভেজা ইডেনের ফায়দা দিল্লি ডেয়ারডেভিলস তুলে নিয়ে চলে গেল কি না, এ জাতীয় প্রশ্নেও পাত্তা দেননি নাইট নেতা। বরং বলেছেন, “আমি মনে করি না। ম্যাচটা ক্লোজ ছিল শেষ পর্যন্ত। এ সব না বলে আমাদের উচিত, ম্যাচ থেকে ইতিবাচক দিকগুলো নেওয়া। যেমন লক্ষ্মীর দুর্ধর্ষ ব্যাটিং। দেবব্রত দাসের ফর্ম।”
ঘটনা হচ্ছে, নিজেদের শুধরে নেওয়ার জন্য খুব বেশি সময় পাচ্ছে না গম্ভীর এবং তাঁর দলবল। আগামী রবিবার জয়পুরে নেমে পড়তে হচ্ছে রাহুল দ্রাবিড়ের রাজস্থান রয়্যালসের বিরুদ্ধে। শুক্রবার দুপুর-দুপুর রাজস্থান রওনা হয়ে গেলে কী হবে, পিচ দেখতে যাওয়ার সুবিধা হয়নি। হোটেলে বসে টিভিতে মেপে নিতে হয়েছে প্রতিপক্ষকে। তবে অধিনায়ক গম্ভীর টিমের সঙ্গে যাননি। তিনি এ দিন ভোরেই উড়ে গিয়েছেন মুম্বই। বিজ্ঞাপনের কাজে। দিল্লি ম্যাচে যে সতেরো জনের দল বাছা হয়েছিল, জয়পুরেও তাঁদেরই রাখা হয়েছে।
তবে টিমের কোনও কোনও সদস্যের মনে হচ্ছে, সাকিবকে দিল্লি ম্যাচে না নামানোটা বড়সড় ভুল হয়েছে নাইট ম্যানেজমেন্টের। সদ্য শেষ হওয়া এশিয়া কাপে তিনি ‘ম্যান অব দ্য টুর্নামেন্ট’। তা ছাড়া ব্রেন্ডন ম্যাকালাম প্রথম ম্যাচে ওপেনিংয়ে কিছু করে দেখাতে পারেননি। কারও কারও বক্তব্য, গম্ভীর নিজে ওপেনিংয়ে গিয়ে সাকিবকে টিমে ঢোকালে ভাল বই খারাপ হবে না। নাম প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছুক টিমের এক সদস্য জয়পুর থেকে ফোনে বলেই দিলেন, “গত বারও সাকিব একই ভাবে ভুগেছিল। ভাল খেলেও টিমে জায়গা হয়নি। রাজস্থান ম্যাচ থেকে ঘুরে দাঁড়াতে হলে ওকে খেলানো দরকার।’’

তিনি এশিয়া কাপের ম্যান অব দ্য টুর্নামেন্ট। তাঁর সবচেয়ে বড় পরিচয় তিনি বিশ্বের সেরা অলরাউন্ডার। সাকিব আল হাসানকে নিয়ে যে ওপরের লাইন দুটো লেখা হলো—তা বোধ করি কাউকেই বলে দেওয়ার নেই। কিন্তু সাকিবের এই পরিচয় যেন ভুলে থাকতেই চাইলেন আইপিএলের কলকাতার ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজি নাইট রাইডার্সের থিংক ট্যাংকরা। আইপিএলের উদ্বোধনী ম্যাচেই দিল্লি ডেয়ারডেভিলসের কাছে পরাজয় মেনে নিতে হলো বিশ্বসেরা অলরাউন্ডারকে ডাগ আউটে বসিয়ে রেখেই। তাঁর বদলে খেললেন ডি ল্যাঙ্গে নামের এক প্রোটিয়া পেসার। যিনি ইডেনের সেই ম্যাচে ছিলেন সবচেয়ে খরচে বোলার। সাকিবকে কেন খেলানো হলো না—এই প্রশ্নের আসলে জবাব নেই। ম্যাচ শেষে সংবাদ সম্মেলনে নাইট রাইডার্স অধিনায়ক গৌতম গম্ভীর যুত্সই কোনো জবাব দিতেও পারলেন না। আমতা, আমতা করে কেবল বললেন, দিল্লির বিপক্ষে ম্যাচে নাকি সেরা একাদশই বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে। অথচ সেই ‘সেরা’ একাদশে বিশ্বসেরা অলরাউন্ডার নেই!
তবে পরের ম্যাচ থেকে সাকিব আল হাসানকে খেলানোর দাবিটা এখন খুব উচ্চকণ্ঠ। কলকাতার সংবাদমাধ্যমগুলোও জোরেশোরেই আওয়াজ তুলেছে পরের ম্যাচে সাকিবকে খেলানোর।
কলকাতার আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকাতেও আজ শনিবার এ বিষয়টি নিয়ে সংবাদ প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। আনন্দবাজারের প্রতিবেদকের কাছে নাম প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছুক কলকাতা নাইট রাইডার্সের অনেক খেলোয়াড়ই বলেছেন, ‘সাকিবকে না খেলানোটা ছিল টিম ম্যানেজমেন্টের বিরাট ভুল।’ কেউ কেউ বলেছেন, ‘যে খেলোয়াড়টি সদ্য সমাপ্ত এশিয়া কাপে ম্যান অব দ্য টুর্নামেন্ট, সে কীভাবে মাঠের বাইরে থাকে!’
সাকিবকে মাঠে না নামানোয় ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে কলকাতা নাইট রাইডার্সের এক ক্রিকেটার বলেছেন, ‘গত আইপিএলেও সাকিব ঠিক এভাবেই ভুগেছিল। ভালো খেলে প্রথম একাদশে জায়গা হচ্ছিল না ওর। এবারও প্রথম ম্যাচে জায়গা হলো না। ঘুরে দাঁড়াতে হলে রাজস্থানের বিপক্ষে ম্যাচে সাকিবকে অবশ্যই খেলানো উচিত।’

ঢাকা: ক্রিকেট মাঠের শিল্পী হিসেবে সাকিব আল হাসানের পরিচয়। ব্যাটেবলে ছবি আঁকেন। ক্রিকেট দুনিয়ায় যথেষ্ট জশ ও খ্যাতি কুড়িয়েছেন। ক্রিকেটারের অন্তরালে তার আরেকটি পরিচয় অজানাই ছিলো। তিনি আলোকচিত্র শিল্পী।

ভক্তদেরকে আর কয়েকটা দিন অপেক্ষা করতে হবে তাদের প্রিয় ক্রিকেটারের চিত্রকর্ম দেখার জন্য। সিরকো সোপ ইন্ডাস্টিজ লিমিটেডের ব্যবস্থাপনায় তেজগাঁওয়ে আগামী ১২ থেকে ১৫ এপ্রিল ৩২ জন শিল্পীর চিত্রকর্ম প্রদর্শিত হবে। প্রতিষ্ঠিত চিত্র শিল্পীদের সঙ্গে দেশের সৌখিন চিত্রকর, ভাস্করদের ছবির পাশে সাকিবের তোলা আলোকচিত্রও থাকবে।

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের চারুকলা ইনস্টিটিউটের ছাত্র রফিকুল শুভ এই প্রদর্শনীর উদ্যোক্তা। তিনিও একজন ক্রিকেটার ছিলেন। বিকেএসপির সাবেক ছাত্র শুভ অনুজ সাকিবের শিল্পী সত্ত্বাকে বিকাশের সুযোগ করে দিচ্ছেন। ব্যতিক্রম এই আয়োজনের প্রয়োজনীয়তা বাংলানিউজকে তুলে ধরেন শুভ, ‘প্রত্যেক মানুষের ভেতরে শিল্প আছে। যে যে কাজ করে তাই শিল্প কর্ম। লেখালেখি যেমন একটা শিল্প। খেলাও শিল্প। আমি চেষ্টা করছি মানুষের শিল্পী মনের প্রকাশ ঘটাতে। সাকিব যে ছবি দিয়েছে তা কিন্তু ক্রিকেটের নয়। তার ছবির প্রতিপাদ্য ‘বাংলার মুখ’। বাংলাদেশের মানুষের জীবনযাত্রা। সে যে খেলার বাইরে একজন মানুষ, যাকে সাধারণ মানুষের দুঃখ কষ্ট স্পর্শ করে তা ফুটে উঠবে আলোক চিত্রে।’

ইন্ডিয়ান প্রিমিয়ার লিগে (আইপিএল) কলকাতা নাইট রাইডার্সের হয়ে খেলছেন সাকিব। ভারত যাওয়ার আগে প্রদর্শনীর জন্য ছবি দিয়ে গেছেন। ঢাকায় যখন তার আলোক চিত্র প্রদর্শিত হবে তখন তিনি ভারতে ক্রিকেট নিয়ে ব্যস্ত থাকবেন।

বিশেষ এই প্রদর্শনী উৎসর্গ করা হবে লেখক আহমেদ ছফা এবং প্রয়াত পপ সঙ্গীত শিল্পী ও মুক্তিযোদ্ধা আজম খানের উদ্দেশে।
