একটা ব্যাপার খুব ঘটছে ইদানীং। ম্যাচ জিতলে সবাই জানতে চায় জয়টা কীভাবে উদযাপন করলাম। আসলে জয় তো উদ্যাপন হয়ে যায় মাঠেই! মাঠ থেকে ফিরে আবার কিসের উদযাপন? সবাই তো তখন থেকেই পরের ম্যাচ নিয়ে ভাবতে শুরু করে দেয়।
পার্টি-টার্টিও এখন আর সেভাবে হয় না দলের মধ্যে। টিম ডিনার হয়, তবে উদযাপন বলতে যেটা, সেটা বেশ কিছুদিন ধরেই হয় না। আমার ধারণা, এখানেও আমাদের পেশাদারি মনোভাবটা কাজ করে। জিতেছি—এটাই তো আমাদের কাজ। আমাদের দায়িত্ব জেতা, তাই জিতেছি—এই বোধটা দেখছি আস্তে আস্তে চলে আসছে সবার মধ্যে। শুভ লক্ষণ!
জয় নিয়ে বেশি মাতামাতি না করার আরেকটা কারণও আছে মনে হয়। একটা ম্যাচ যদি আমরা জিতিও, সে ম্যাচে হয়তো যেকোনো তিনজন ভালো খেলল; স্বাভাবিকভাবেই তাদের আনন্দটা হয় বেশি। কিন্তু যারা খারাপ খেলেছে, তারা এক ধরনের যন্ত্রণায় পোড়ে। তারা চায় পরের ম্যাচে মনোযোগ দিতে, ওটা নিয়েই কাজ শুরু করে দেয়। দলের সবাই আসলে এখন খেলার প্রতি অনেক বেশি মনোযোগী।
জয়ের ব্যাপারে আরও একটা নতুনত্বও দেখছি এখন। এই সিরিজে যেমন আমরা কেউই ম্যাচের আগে জয়ের গন্ধ পাইনি। আগে যেমন জেতা ম্যাচের দিন সকালেই একটা অন্যরকম অনুভূতি কাজ করত, এই সিরিজে সেটা নেই। কাউকে বলতে শুনিনি আগে থেকেই টের পাওয়ার ব্যাপারটা। সবারই ধারণা ছিল, এটা একটা কঠিন সিরিজ হবে। চতুর্থ ওয়ানডেতে তো সেটা আরও বেশি করে মনে হলো—ম্যাচটা আমাদের জন্য মোটেও সহজ হবে না। সবাই যদি খুব ভালো ক্রিকেট খেলি তাহলেই কেবল জেতা সম্ভব।
নিউজিল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে এক ম্যাচ আগেই সিরিজ জিতে গেছি বলে বলছি না, এমনিতেও আমাদের দল এখন অনেক বেশি স্বয়ংসম্পূর্ণ। এখন একেক ম্যাচে একেকজন ম্যান অব দ্য ম্যাচ হচ্ছে, ভালো পারফর্ম করছে। এই জিনিসটা আগে হতো না। আমরা ২-৩ জনের ওপরই নির্ভর করে থাকতাম। তারা ভালো খেললে কিছু একটা সম্ভব, না খেললে সব অসম্ভব। কিন্তু এখন কেউ আমার বা তামিমের ওপর নির্ভর করে থাকে না। সবাই জানে কেউ না কেউ করবে। প্রত্যেকেই চায় দিনটাকে তার বানাতে। কিন্তু সবাই তো এক দিনে সফল হবে না। যেদিন যার দিন আসে, সেদিন সে সেটা কাজে লাগানোর চেষ্টা করছে।
নিউজিল্যান্ড যে এবার আমাদের সঙ্গে পারল না, অনভিজ্ঞতা হয়তো একটা কারণ। তবে আমরা কিন্তু দুই বছর আগেও দেশের মাটিতে নিউজিল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে সিরিজ জিততে পারতাম। ২০০৮ সালেও ওদের বিপক্ষে প্রথম ম্যাচটা আমরা জিতে যাই। পরের ম্যাচটাও জেতা উচিত ছিল আমাদেরই, জিতলে সেবারই সিরিজ জেতা হয়ে যেত। সেসব অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে হয়তো আমরা কিছু শিক্ষা নিতে পেরেছি, যেটা এবার কাজে লেগেছে। এ ছাড়া আমাদের এই দলটা অনেক দিন ধরেই একসঙ্গে আছে। একজন আরেকজনের খেলা সম্পর্কে জানে। আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে ভালো করার জন্য যে অভিজ্ঞতা দরকার, সেটাও এখন অনেকের আছে।
সবার ওপর সবার একটা বিশ্বাসও চলে এসেছে সে সঙ্গে। এখন যেই উইকেটে থাকুক, বাকিরা তার ওপর আস্থা রাখে। কেউ বিশ্বাস হারায় না। কারও ব্যাপারেই আমরা মনে করি না যে ওকে দিয়ে সম্ভব না, ও পারবে না। এই আত্মবিশ্বাসটা কিন্তু অনেক বড় ব্যাপার। নিজে আত্মবিশ্বাসী না হলে অন্যের ওপরও আস্থা রাখা যায় না। মোট কথা, দলের সবারই এখন সামর্থ্য আছে যেকোনো কিছু করার।
নিউজিল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে ৩-০-তে এগিয়ে থাকা সিরিজটা তাই কাল ৪-০-তেও শেষ হতে পারে। সবার প্রত্যাশা সেটাই। অনেককে দেখছি নিউজিল্যান্ডকে হারানোর পর এখনই বিশ্বকাপ নিয়ে ভাবতে শুরু করে দিয়েছে। প্রত্যাশা আসলে ধাপে ধাপে বাড়ে। আমরাও সেভাবেই চিন্তা করি, ৩-০ করেছি, ৪-০ কেন পারব না? তবে সেজন্য আমাদের খেলায় আরও উন্নতি আনতে হবে। নিউজিল্যান্ড কিন্তু গত ম্যাচে আমাদের অনেক কাছাকাছি চলে এসেছে। এই উইকেটে তিনটা ম্যাচ খেলে ফেলে অনেকটাই মানিয়ে নিয়েছে। আমাদের তাই আরও ভালোভাবে প্রস্তুতি নিতে হবে।
শেষ ম্যাচের জন্য নতুন কোনো পরিকল্পনা নেই। সবাই চেষ্টা করব ভালো পারফর্ম করতে। যে সুযোগ পাবে, সেই যেন সুযোগটা কাজে লাগায়। সঙ্গে মৌলিক কাজগুলো ঠিক রাখতে হবে। তারপর ফল যা হওয়ার হবে। এ ম্যাচে পূর্ণ শক্তির দল নিয়েই খেলার পরিকল্পনা এখনো পর্যন্ত।
আমাদের টার্গেট আসলে একবারে লাফ মেরে ছাদে ওঠা নয়। লাফ মেরে ছাদে উঠে গেলাম, তারপর ঠাস করে পড়ে গেলাম—এ রকম কোনো কিছু দরকার নেই। আমরা এমনভাবে উঠব যে আমাদের পতন যেন কখনো না হয়। বরং একদিন হয়তো আরও ওপরেই উঠব আমরা। নিউজিল্যান্ড সিরিজের সাফল্য কি সেই স্বপ্ন দেখাতে পারে না?

its too long to translate but heres the gist of it:

the bd team these days don't make a fuss over their wins coz they realized that its their job to win as they are professionals. The players who could not contribute significantly towards victory suffer internally and concentrate on the next match as soon as they are off field. The team isn't dependent on 2-3 players. Everyone tries to make it their day and they trust each other's capability.

Shakib warned that the last match was pretty close as NZ has got used to the local condition by now. To clench the series, bd has to work harder

After leading Bangladesh to a 4-0 series sweep against New Zealand, Sakib-al Hasan finally tasted a defeat, albeit in a friendly football match, at the hands of some of his victorious teammates, at the BKSP on Tuesday.

A team led by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim thrashed Sakib-led team by 5-1 in the game involving former BKSP students. Sakib had Shahadat Hossain and Naeem Islam while Sohrawardi Shuvo played for Mushfique in the match. Dolar Mahmud and Roqibul Hasan also played for Mushfique.

The cricketers went to the academy to donate some money to Dhiman Miji, a class student of hockey discipline, who has been suffering from a brain tumour. Sakib, Mushfique and Shuvo handed over a cheque of Tk 1, 60, 000 for his treatment.

The money is an addition to Tk 104, 000 which the members of the national team donated earlier for the treatment. Dhiman needs a total of Tk 20 lakh for his treatment. The cricketers promised to try to raise more fund for him.

Exactly. I've been in that building since 2000. It is pretty close to SBNS. One of my best friend lives there. He is Tamim's next door neighbour..lol, shakib lives upstair. Nice apt building with good security (ok, i know they had that incident once). Rubel and Nafis Iqbal also stay in the same building too. My friend says every time shakib see them in the elavetor he will politely give "salam" and visit them after eid namaj. Once shakib-tamim had a friendly Badminton match (the kind we have in dhaka during winter with Lights outside) infront street where other kids play normally
