I hope Shakib's recent batting revelation in T20 will get him more chances in Friends Life T20, Big Bash, Standard Bank Pro 20, HRV Cup & KKR.

Thanks for this great knock Shakib. You make proud most of Bangladeshies (I know there are few who supported Pakistan yesterday). After this performance some even starts thinking, what a waste of talent for being born in Bangladesh.

Shakib is just sooooo pissed from the lack of effort from the rest of the team. Sometimes it does seem like the rest of our team wants to sit back, relax and enjoy what Shakib does in the middle...

He is very accurate about the 'no-competition for a spot in our team' issue as its quite evident that we have some free-riders in the team.

Expecting BD to produce a pacer like Dale Steyn is too much to ask for a lot of reasons, but we can produce an Ajmal or a Mendis if we want. Dont know whats the solution for the apathy towards our fielding as Shakib pointed out. Even Nasir is only going downhill these days...

That's the exact part what struck me !!! I am glad that he knows exactly where he belongs.. he knows he can never be Murali, Narine or Ajmal and he really have to work hard to get closer to Swann ..My respect for him just went up a notch !!

I would like to give some credit to Utpol Shuvra for this great interview as he came up with some important and relevant questions unlike most of our other journos who would just piss Shakib off with stupid questions.. Good to see Shakib openning up to the media specially to Isam bhai n Utpol Shuvro !!

I hope his team members would learn something even from this interview and give their 100% while playing.. It's really a great privilege for most of them to play alongside Shakib Al Hasan, one of the best in the business atm and I don't see of getting another Shakib Al Hasan in the near future .. Though I hope we do as Shakib wants a competitor too.. Just see how competition brought the best in Shakib in IPL.. Our players shouldn't just take their place for granted rather try to get past Shakib and make a mark in the world cricket ..

But Shakib appreciated that a lot.. He was missing desi food and he didn't know how to cook but the probashi Bangalis helped Shakib a lot .. He didn't have to worry about cooking at all.. That was really nice of them and we should appreciate that as well..

No that was one of his friend from London who cooked, he just posed for it

Anyways here is what he has to say about the short balls being bowled by the pacers

I still don't understand what were the pacers thinking while bowling those short balls as it was definitely not the slow pitch like the subcontinent.. after being tonked for an over they should have stopped bowling those short pitched deliveries and forget about what was planned earlier..Sometimes I think our players just leave their brain at home and just do things like totapakhi.. I would blame the culture of "mukhosto biddya" here .. Use ur brain for God's sake and play according to match situation !!

Loved the interview. Good to be assured once again that he doesn't dwell in a dream land even after receiving all these adulations. I particularly liked his self assessment. He knows that he's no Warne/Murali, but also has the self belief that he's a good spinner.
