If this happens both Sakib & BCB should be blamed, SAkib should have gone to Aus during the WI ODI series.

Reality check.

Shakib is professional cricketer he will try to get maximum $ out of his cricket career. BCB should have acted straight away when Shakib was complaining of shin problem.

Terrible management of injury issues... Both Shakib and BCB deserves blame for this. I hope the board will be stricter from now on.

hmm, it's ok to be professional but he needs to be careful in future and make sure he plays every series for BD( if fit) no matter what.
Not only we need him badly but he is also a role model for many cricket lovers.

And I remember clearly just after the BPL2 auction, I was watching BAnglavision news and the owner of DG was interviewed, he said BCB will get around 70% of the money the players were bought for during the auction.

Exactly! BCB should ensure that! He has no right to play foreign domestic leagues while he is skiping national duty,its totally Shakib's fault......he is too hungry to earn $ as soon as possible,even without thinking about his future as a top class cricket.

He is 'advised' to take a rest. He could play if he wanted to but think about his own well being. If he was was 'advised' to take a rest during the BPL but didn't then thats a different story.

What the hell was he doing for the last 3 months? Is playing for Bangladesh not the top priority anymore? The BCB should have sent him to this Aussie doctor much earlier, without Shakib we might as well not tour Sri Lanka. He and the BCB both know how important he is to our team and yet he risks this tour to play in BPL and just waste the vacation after WI series?

Now he is completely out of SL tour and Zim tour after that is also highly doubtful. He was not there for the WI series as well. Don't know how to vent frustration. We should seriously start thinking of BD team without Shakib when we consider its strength and weakness.

Will he participate in IPL?

If the surgery happens this week, the six weeks recovery period will end at the start of April when the IPL starts. May be - he will start warming up with IPL matches taking they are of limited overs. In the hindsight this might all be very well pre-planned so not to miss the IPL - which is kinda good - cuz I would miss him in IPL if he doesn't play.
