Do they really think they can just get away with it? Do they expect the players to just forget about it and move on? They are clearly counting on something odd like that.

Why was there a 2nd season in the first place? I can't believe players actually came back for the 2nd time. Obviously they love cricket, and big Bangladeshi fan base helped them see the love. I hope there is a 3rd season, just so I can see players sign up, take money up front and not show up for any of the games.

Just continuing about Shakib's convo with Tiwary (KKR) and Joy B (KKR). Looks like everybody loves him at KKR. I think in next auction they will keep him too.

Btw Tiwary has 177k followers and Shakib only 6k+

Because Tiwary is active on tweeter and Shakib is not, tweets once in a blue moon.

India has a population of 1.241B and Bangladesh of 150.5M

Ratio of Tiwary followers to Shakib's = 177/6 = 29.5

Ratio of Indian Pop to BD pop = 1241/150.5 = 8.25

Hmm... Shakib is behind.

and India is more wired than BD. But Tiwary is not to India what Shakib is to BD. He is a fringe cricketer at best (more like our Farhad Reza). But Shakib is our Tendulkar+Dravid etc. combined and hence I was surprised. I think it has to do what MoC bhai said. Tiwary is more active.

In any case, its good see Shakib being popular in KKR camp. Shakib,Tiwary and Iqbal Abdullah are very good friends. Shakib and Tiwary won the best bengali of the year award (kolkata) last year I think.

oh okay

One thing I noticed lately about Shakib is his professionalism. He is a very professional cricketer both on and off field. In PA interview he expressed his opinion about BPL and even said "eta bhebe hotash hoi je amra ekhono koto unprofessional", and also how missed out on 3 crore taka from this year's IPL. The reason he loves IPL and KKR is because no matter what, IPL is at least professional for player payments.

He might be the first cricketer from BD to have such professional attitude. Mushy is somewhat there but he is too emotional.

Well only a handful of Bangladeshi have a twitter account. I will suprised if even there are 1 million BDeshi on twitter. It was just like the first few days when FB brokeout, Bangalis seemed reluctant and then over the next 5 years, majority of people below the age of 30 have a facebook account. When those near you start using twitter, you will eventually have a twitter account yourself

Another factor could be that there only a handful of BD celebrity or players alike have a twitter account. Heck, only a handful of people in BD are interested in BD celebrities. And from our cricketers, only a handful have twitter account, and probably dont know how to use it properly.

It's his avatar/ profile picture as well. Many people don't know that it is his verified account.

It's a lack of awareness. One of his fake accounts has 17,000 followers.

I was VERY relived and happy to hear from an insider today that neither Shakib nor Nasir is involved in the fixes in any way, shape or form. In fact, bookies are reportedly scared to approach Shakib. Proud of you Faisal!

Shakib didn't involve himself in match fixing because he isn't an idiot like Ash.

Bookies arent idiots that they will target big names. Bookies are among the more "smarter" people around the world who target greedy, emotionally weak and/or those whose future is not bright. Its not a wonder that bookies contact the likes of sreesanth, Asif, Ashraful. Now do you expect someone to even think about approaching, say, tendulkar or dravid?

Ashraful is a perfect target for a bookie. For some reason, the name "shahadat hossain" comes to my mind everytime the word "Bangladeshi involved in MF/SF" comes to my mind. Not because of him bowling rubbish, but rather his mental attitude to the game.

Can't buy that logic... They did approach Gayle !!! Cronje, Azharuddin -they were big names too..it entirely depends on player's honesty and his approach to the game. Anyone can be a victim and no one is saint. It's good to know Shakib is not one of them but now when I see Rafiq's name I think I won't be surprised if Shakib's name ever joins the list. Specially when He will be out of form. That's a test for a bright and young players like him.

I think Shakib was approached once and he reported to BCB straight away. Need to do some digging to find that news.

Mashrafe is emotionally weak as well and his future was never bright with all those injuries. Did he accept the offer of a bookie? It all boils down to honesty.
