He can't maintain both his good bowling and batting it seems. Now that he's bowling brilliantly, his batting crashed down. Sigh.

He should maybe bat higher and be asked to bat more responsibly? 4 would be ideal, and below 5 it's a waste to expect him to score there.

when not playing for BD at 4 he has the worst record of any batting position. i think his ideal position in t20 is number 3 but i dont see any team being that confident of him to let him bat at 3

tridents even dropped him down to number 7, cant blame them though

with all seriousness any of our spinners like Razzaq,Gazi or Sunny would have scored more than Sakib, I gave up on his batting 3 matches before (only CPL)

His batting is setting a new low. I don't think he would do much better if he played International matches now. Clearly there is something wrong.

T20 is always about hit ormiss. And if you are not in the top of your form, you will miss most of the time than hit. In t20 there is no room to take it slow and build, you need to try your luck even when you are off-form.

But in ODI or Test, you can start it slowly and still get some runs just surviving using your experiece and regain some confidence back.

So yes he is currenly producing no runs in T20, but that doen't mean he will do the same in ODI or TEST.

He is lasting 5-10 balls. That's short time even by t-20 standards. What is wrong with his batting?

I think he is just coming in during pressure situations and feeling the heat. Against the Zouks, he only had few overs and had no choice but to slog. Last game, he came in after 50-5 or something like that and RR was very high. It's not an excuse because a class player like him should be able to handle this type of situations.

I think he needs to gain confidence. It would be nice if he can play at 3 and slowly build the innings. But these foreign team managements might not trust him. So it will be back in BD where he will get that chance.

Let's just hope he doesn't bat like this in the NZ series, I feel he'll bounce back. That being said, it's no excuse for him to doing this bad with the bat. Thankfully he's been great with the ball.

i dont know whats wrong with him. He was given the opportunity to bat at various positions. But regardless of the situation, target, batting slot.. he looks completely out of sort. He is either swinging at everything or trying to late cut everything. With this batting, he will actually damage our batting lineup. I wouldnt mind if he were just going through a bad patch. But his techniques are getting worse. I feel he is wayy to hungry about scoring big. This is damaging is techniques.

Having said all that... he is true class and we all know it. He will bounce back and score runs. I just hope he works a little bit on his basic and realize his mistake rather than blindly aiming to score big

He's getting a break because this is the CPL. If this were the IPL, his sorry behind would have been dropped a long time ago.

Shakib should be no.3 in T20's. National team and elsewhere.
