when is he flying back to bangladesh and practice for the 3 ODI's ahead? is he gonna get complacent and chill out until the game? or is he going to work hard with his team and try to aim for a banglawash? what's it gonna be?

Cut the man some slack, will you?

Even if he doesn't join the training camp, he'll be more fit than 95% of the squad to face India.

"Surprise package
For someone rated as one of the best allrounders in international game, Shakib Al Hasan had played smaller, defined roles in the Knight Riders set-up in the past. Bowling has been his stronger suit, but this year Shakib raised the stakes as a batsman. His 227 runs gave the fragile middle-order some girth and his ability to ramp up the pace of scoring lent much-needed intent. It all came together in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore when he partnered Uthappa in a 119-run stand for the fourth wicket that took less than 12 overs and scored 60 off just 38 balls. Shakib's all-round form kept Jacques Kallis, a proven stalwart, out of the Knight Riders' XI."

Part of KKR's end of season review. Really impressive!

Also, he was selected as 12th man in Cricinfo's IPL Team of the Tournament:

"Shakib Al Hasan is the twelfth man, and a good choice since he fields well and can replace a batsman or a bowler as required. If team balance wasn't a criterion, he would have made the starting XI."

This sums up how well he performed this year . TBH he should have done even better with the bat in earlier matches.

Quote:
For example, Shakib Al Hasan scored 227 runs at a strike rate of 149.3. His strike rate was a good 20% better than the tournament's average strike rate of 129.0, so he is credited with more runs than he actually scored, which works out to 256. This multiplied by the value of each run - INR1,30,594 - means he generated a batting value of INR 3.34 crore. Similarly, Shakib took 11 wickets at an economy of 6.68, which was much better than the tournament economy rate of 8.01 runs per over. So his 11 wickets are weighted up for his better economy and get him returns equivalent to 12.8 wickets. The bowling value he generates is 12.8 multiplied by the value of each wicket, i.e. INR 38,62,611, which works out to INR 4.95 crore. The total notional money he generates for his team is the sum of his batting and bowling values - INR 8.30 crore. This minus the price at which Shakib was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders will give the gains made by the team by investing on him. This figure works out to INR 5.50 crore.

So how long will the celebration continue? He needs to come back asap to get himself prepared for the national duty.

Amazing how Sakji keeps achieving things and the rest of our players are mostly nothing but disappointment.

Since he'll be entering this series, high off the IPL success and mindset, I sincerely hope he doesn't try slogging at everything in the ODIs
