Serious question

Is he just about the best player we've ever produced? I don't want to hear about the potential of mashrafe or Ashraful.

I mean in terms of what they've accomplished at this level?

Is that the most amazing question of BC ever asked?

True pathetic Shakib gets out 78 again - time to kick him out of the team.

Seriously, great day for Shak, brilliant innings - would've loved if he had got on to that hundred. Always misses 10-20 short

mwah Shakib!!
and simon da! If he's selfish let him be....we haven't had the privilege to have this kind of selfish cricketer ever......
WHAT A DAY FOR HIM.....5 wickets plus 73....MWAAAH

And to those who thinks about his all-round performance for tests....he'll soon be there at the TOP!!!

Damn he was very much frustrated when he got out..no worries...happens to the best of the people.....he'll do even better in the 2nd innings....

It's sometimes his passion and will to succeed gets the better of him, and he get's so visible downhearted.
He's nearly averaging less than 30 with the ball... Hats off

Went to the stadium to watch him bat and it was a treat as always (and then some). He looked to be cruising towards 150 plus before the fatal combination of premeditation, hesitation and a good delivery put an end to what was shaping up to be yet another "Shakib Achhe" day.

Dismissals:

1. Tamim: not really surprised.

2. KaEdge: not really surprised.

3. Mofees: not really surprised.

4. DaRok: expected.

5. GoBoy: sudden touch of Mofeesitis?

6. Shakib: premeditation kills. Subsequent hesitation makes it bloody. A good delivery on top of all that makes it a massacre.

7. Nayeem: WTF was that???

8. Nasir: hope 1 life is enough. Last hope.

9. Shubho: walking wicket.

I dont understand the problem with shakib...why is he satisfied with these 50 60 70?

if he wants to be compared with the likes of kallis botham as one of the elite allrounders he needs to convert this 50s to 100s

He isn't satisfied? Didn't you see his reaction to getting out?

Shakib should have got his 100. It was a perfect set up for him today. First 5fer then a century...could not be any better.

Ironically, he tried to play a defensive stroke to that ball. Missed the timing, happens to the best of people.

As I've always said, Shakib is more of a bowling allrounder rather than batting allrounder like Kallis. Hopefully he'll improve his defense better.

Kirk Edwards said. "The pitch looks about the same as it was yesterday but I do think it will get drier and we'll have to play Shakib well. He's a quality player. I find his bowling to be disciplined and he's a really good cricketer." - Cricinfo
