"The way the wickets fell today, my century seems to have suddenly become quite special."

Tamim Iqbal couldn't stifle a grin when saying this, but to be fair, he was allowed at least a smile after his standout 104. He thrived on good form, clarity of thinking and batting skills that made his innings special even before the other batsmen (barring Mominul Haque) put together a miserable scorecard.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...y/1063716.html

He's not even upset, not even a little bit! I figured he'd be angry that he didn't go on! Just like his fans, he too is satisfied. I'm fuming that he missed out on a special knock and I gain/lose nothing from his innings. This is just like 2010. Deja vu. Nothing changed. Only time he scored a double when Hathrui challenged him that he couldn't. Really. Someone has to set the bar for you??

And he kept offering that stupid pad, over and over and over again. That was the 4th time! All the shot in the book and he played with pads. Sorry, but that ain't the pitch bro. England couldn't buy your wicket! But you're so freaking generous.

"Satisfaction is the death of desire."

On these pitches we've just been throwing away our wickets, our batsmen shouldn't be having problems as they've grown up playing on these their whole lives against the Alis of our domestics, on the other hand the English are desperately struggling and just can't keep their **** together. Not to mention the English middle-order are being helped by Rahim letting the pressure off and Stokes just having the series of his life

Cricket is a team sport.
After tamim scored that century he acted over smart.

He should have continued his normal game.

What I remember next ball he faces he played a full front defensive shot.

Perhaps he wanted to show after a century he won't give up, he will concentrate on ball and play as merit and make a new start.

But for him the best thing was to play the way he was. Rotate strike and punish bad balls and defend good balls.

But after that century he suddenly was even blocking bad balls and got the cheer of the crowd.

Then he though leaving one ball or two he will get more cheers but he perished.

The rest of the batsman.......

They wanted to score 340 at the end of the day and was in hurry.

Ok we lost tamim, we played half the day only losing 2 wickets for 170....
It's not essential to score another 170.

Even 85 for no further wickets will be good.

Get set..... Get a start and then assess how you accumulate runs.

Riad looked like got a start of start then gone. Mominul don't know why played back foot. Mushfiq wanted to show nothing happened with that blow by stepping out and hit....... Sabbir was gone even before he understands anything.......
We were puzzled the offie duo followed soon.

Shakib was all alone as he saw 5 wickets fell on the other side...... And then even he cud not save us.

One of the main issue making these collapse is not handling Ben Stokes well.

Ben Stokes don't give any loose balls. Bowls consistently on good length.... Our batsman gets impatient.
Yesterday first session..... tamim and mominul played out Stokes may be 6 runs of 6 overs.... 4maidens but no wickets.

But second session..... Mahmudullah gave Stokes the wicket... Trying to get cheeky with an open faced bat.
And others was trying to attack from the other side when moeen and woakes chipped in.

Well all that is history.

Let's see can we tackle the English middle order today.

Looked good for another 100. Played a flick shot with leg slip on. Should've brashly left it alone like he had the ball before a couple of times.

Liked his approach in the second innings. Pity he couldn't continue

Interesting. He has a great test record against England, but a poor ODI record against them. Has 4 hundreds against England and 5 fifties in total in the short matches he has played against England.

According to Kalerkontho, team management gave the captaincy duty to Tamim and Shakib for the duration after the tea break since Mushfiq was 'under pressure':

That explains a lot. But nevertheless, whoever the captain was, he got bailed out by Da Ice Man and Da Miracle Man.

LMAO! Why would this news even come out but I'm ain't even mad that it did. Deserves a separate thread. Open it Habib. That does explain the drastic turnaround. Mushy was losing his **** as early as the 5th over when Duck0it played a couple of switches, got desperate, started to try too many things.

Shak and Tamim really should take over permanently for the NZ tour. Rahim is not a captain/leader material and that's perfectly aaokay. Not everyone is a leader. Let him be a soldier.

I wouldn't mind another Shak/Tamim stint in our test side, they've come a long way from the 2011 era and have matured more hopefully

Nah not feeling like opening a thread. Go ahead if you want. Anyhow, by team management I am pretty sure it means Hathuru. It's quite humiliating for a captain to get 'sacked' when a match is ongoing, even if it's only for two hours. I expect Hathuru to convince Papon not to consider Mushfiq for the ODI captaincy when Mash retires. After all, he obviously knows who is a captain material in the team and who is not, sharing the dressing room with them.

ODI captaincy to Rahim? Are you kidding me? Don't even utter those words please!
