Tamim is ambi-dextrous, many people are ambidextrous, including me. It is an advantage.
Many cricketers can bat left handed, but bowls righthanded and can throw with both arms, I think that they practise it also.

Haven't we seen many of our players in that situation? and then being abused now, for repeating the text inside bracket for a bit longer than expected ?
Don't go into a verdict yet; I like to see he is getting out of the bracket more often than not. Hope he does.

I still can't believe Tamim dropped that catch off Gambhir. He is quite clearly the last man in the team I would expect to drop a catch.....bad luck I guess. And my oh my, the start Tamim got against India, he absolutely shook Zaheer/Praveen, if he had stayed for another 10 overs, he would have reached 150+. Real pity for him and Bangladesh that he got out.
Hoping for a big one from the big man tomorrow.

Tamim thinks he can hit every ball out the park. And I am sure he can. I am sure guys like Sehwag can too. But they DON'T. That's the difference. Just because you can, doesn't mean you have to. Like on the last game, if he had taken a single after hitting a 4 and a 6s, he would still be out there batting.
He should forget about SR, his aim should be to bat till 40 overs at least...

u r right my dear,
in odis the field set is more attacking than Test,Tamim needs to be more carefull in Odis.
In test there are too many fieders in the slip,so easier to find gaps on the off or leg side.
But not in odis & ya instead of the SR he better think of playing a long innings,I prefer him to get a 120 ball century than a 32 ball fifty.

From the comment you made earlier, it sounded you really don't know it. In case you really don't, the answer is quite the opposite of what you wrote.
Attacking field: When you have more fielders in catching position (slips, gully, silly point) or close up, where the team focuses on taking wickets rather than saving runs.
Defensive field: Is the opposite of the prior.

so,tamim Iqbal is no longer the top scorer in Test.
It's Sachin,(who else?)
Tamim from 14 innings scored 837 runs.
Sachin from 11 innings scored 867 runs.
with no more Test this yr means no more chance for TI to get back to top 1.
But I'm still proud of him.

Well so where exactly did simon go wrong paagla? I mean isn't it then obvious that when the three PP is on in ODI with most already crammed in the inner circle it's automatically an attacking field.
smh...and I thought I was the antel here.

Tamim can be a much better batsman and accumulator of runs if he learns to curtail his aggressive nature. He is trying to be another Sehwag, but Sehwag bats according to the field settings, I guess in another 10 years Tamim will be one of the greatest, but in the meantime, he needs to understand that he is part of the team and bats carefully,so that as an opener, he gives the rest of the batsmen some breathng space and they are not under pressure to score quickly. he also has to learn that he cannot hit every ball for a boundary, as he does not like to run ones and twos.

^^^it's ok if TI is agressive because that makes the bowling side loose control, dominance, becomes defensive & the bowlers become clueless.
Tamim is such a talent that he can even get a boundary from a good delivery, but I'd prefer him to be more patient, take more singles & doubles,& wait for the bad or average deliveries.
I hate when he tries to give it all in the same over, like he did against Vettori, but survived against Swann.
I really don't hope 2010 will be his best year,or like he was in super form which won't last for long.
I believe he has already learnt the art of scoring hundreds in Tests & we will witness more in future(with the help of Allah) .

^^^^tamim has shown some maturity previously and has shown that he knows what's best for him as he worked very hard to get through with his difficulties with the short balls.hopefully he will realise what's good for him and the team and play accordingly!

^^ya,as a player Tamim is getting more & more matured & he is very focused & determined.
I remeber he said he wants 100s not 50s before touring ENgland & that's what he got 2 centuries.

Is Tamim a terrorist to play with bombs?
Nooo... he needs a decent girl, not a bomb ... I trust his tastes and I'm sure he will do what's best for his career. Bombs aren't good for anyone's career.
