Can't believe though that this was the same guy that scored wonderful back to back 100s against a better opposition on seaming tracks. Tamim has gotten out to Roach about 6 times which is a record against Tamim. I wonder if he somehow lost all his ability. Looked very ordinary with the bat in the last 2 matches.

The way he got out today was all credit to the bowler. That was one of the best deliveries (if not the best) in this tournament! Even tendulkar would have had a hard time with that ball ...

This is International cricket. Facing good to great deliveries should be expected at this level. Playing across the line or having such a gap between bat and pad on the other hand, ought not be.
One should always learn from his mistakes and strive to do better. Young Tamim Iqbal Khan, easily the most talented batsman we've had the good fortune to produce to date IMO, is no exception to that obvious truth.
Once he gets better by learning from his mistakes and consistently applies what he learned, he'll become not only the best batsman we have, an honor currently held by Shakib IMO, but also one of the best in the world.
When that happens someday and believe it will InshAllah, we'll be talking about him converting his 100s to 150s and beyond.

Three wickets that roach got was with 3 fiery deliveries which most batsman in the world would have a tough time dealing with. Specially the delivery that tamim got. It pitched outside leg and swung away to hit the outside of off stump. I would be proud if an offie bowls that bowl, let alone someone at 140+ speed....

The ball swung a long way, can't really blame Tamim that much. I am happy with his overall performances (including fielding) in this series

actually there was something tamim could have done. he never moved his feet so he was in no position to get anyway near the ball.
if tamim had some front foot movement he could have defended or at least edged that ball. may be the edge would have gone to the WK or slips but still that would have looked a better dismissal. but also the edge may have gone beside the slips.
he was actually anticipating short balls and was preferring to stay back foot. this happens when we are pre-meditating a back foot shot and the ball is pitched up to you and u dont have enough frontfoot movement

Tamim needs to sort out playing straight deliveries. An opener getting bowled out in 2 consequtive matches is a bad bad sign for sure.

I am glad someone else saw the delivery to Tamim the same way as i did. People keep saying he missed a straight delivery!!!!
Ajob! That flick shot off his pads is his bread and butter shot and would have been succesful if there wasn't such a huge movement.

His footwork was fine, he just should have played a straight defensive shot rather than the flick across the line. That was a full ball on the pads, and on a flat track with no movement, would have been spanked to the boundary with the same shot

He has a weakness and now its his time to address it. Its upto him how he wants to develop on his game. Its kinda strange how some days he looks like he can take apart any bowling lineup in the world and other times he looks as clueless as a lost reindeer on Christmas Day.

Tamim seriously needs to stop smoking. It's taking a toll on his health!

Turned down 2s and 3s at least 15 times, which cost us the game IMHO.

Correction: 1 when there's a 3, 1 when there's a 4, 1 when there's a 6.

SEVERAL moral victories in the cards:
1. Restricting the World Champions below 200.
2. Starting well.
3. Not throwing our wickets away and having 9 wickets in hand after 20 overs.
4. Scoring more than 170 chasing the World Champions.
5. Tamim almost scoring a Test/ODI 150 (a T20I 30 = a Test/ODI 50) AND carrying his bat.
6. Riyad scoring a T20I 50*

Because it wasn't enough. You need to take your eyes off of the stats for a bit and look at the match situation. Don't be an Atahar.
