Does he even have any intention of quitting? He strikes me as one of our less professional players. He also seems to just be satisfied with 50s (he wanted a fifties board at Lords which might have been a joke but his four finger salute in the Asia Cup looks childish when you look at what a Virat Kohli has achieved right next door). He needs to introspect and dig deep otherwise he will be a highly talented 35 average batsman with fewer centuries than Ashraful.

Couldn't agree more. Excuses are easier to find than meaningful introspection for someone as unduly adulated and spoiled as he is, thanks in no small part to euphoric fans. My hope is that it will in fact be his monumental ego that can help him fulfill his remarkable potential in the end. His ego will drive him to want to walk the talk and do what's necessary to do just that.

He is underperforming considering the talent he has. Needs to really take authority and change his thinking.

22.6 NLTC Perera to Tamim Iqbal, 1 run, oh no, what a drop. Drop of drops I say. The batsman gets too adventurous, charges at the bowler and tries to send that over extra cover, but completely mistimes it. It lobs up high in the air towards mid-off where Angelo drops the simplest of chances. - CI
Why Tamim W-H-Y ???

The more BD gets to play the better for Tamim. This way he keeps in shape. Once he goes away from the camp he swells.

Congrats Tamim.

Missed a few singles here and there and got a life but well done. Of course the run out we could do without.

Anyone notice,Tamim's centuries always comes in matches where the other players flop all together, he ends up scoring 50%+ of the runs....

Big blow to Bangladesh -- Tamim Iqbal out of the ODI series, the TV commentators have announced. It's a hairline fracture on his right thumb

Wow, might as well have sent the A team. This is really getting annoying.

Congrats to him though.

Congratulations Tamim on your long awaited 100.

Didn't see it - but from the sounds of it - it took some effort and one lucky drop.
But a 100 is a 100 - hope many more to come.

The shot Tamim played which Matthews dropped showed that he really didn't learn from his countless mistakes of not converting his 50s to 100s. Anyways a hundred is a hundred so congrats. Although he did show maturity must of the time throughout his innings.

to me tamim is probably the most frustrating of the BD batsman, he's got serious talent, should be averaging 40+ especially in the longer format.

Tamim the iqbal khan chowdhury. I am throwing the gauntlet at you. 220 or bust. Break Sehwag's record.

What do you get? The fact that you got to convince us your cojones are made of wood...

Karma's a big ol dirty bi**h.

For all those days of flamboyance, benson, biriyani and the carefree you bowl I hit finger counting attitude, the one very day he really worked hard, ran hard and wanted to play a big long innings that eventually rewarded him with a long overdue century, is the very same day he injures his hand while fielding and finds himself out of the team for the rest of the series.

Nothing more he would have loved than a continuance of that hard work and follow it up with another solid performance.

But now it will take another dose of starting it all over again and emotionally connect himself from Hambantota to Harare.

doesnt look like he will be fit for Zim tour. According to cricinfo, a hairline fracture rules out a player for 4-6 weeks. Means he will miss most if not all off the Zim tour.
