I was happy to see the way Tamim batted today. It was a professional display by him. Of course I don't want to see him bat like this all the time but at the same time, he doesn't need to go for so many shots in the beginning. If he learns how to pace his innings better, the guy can really become a class above the player he is now.

^ Tamim is way too concerned with bringing the fight to the bowler from the word get go. You can bring the fight to the bowler once you figure out what the bowler is up to. No one is asking him to be Golla but it wouldn't hurt to take it down a notch with all the whacking the ball out of park.

I miss the Tamim of England.
he admitted that he isnt at his top form but now that he got some runs under his belt 36no ,50& 37 in test I think he should bat more positively.
I think TI with this approach will get 50s but not hundreds, so hope him to score more freely, positively, aggressively, thats what suits him.

His attitude still the same...unless he change it..he wont win us any games against top 8.
An example: He was batting with Rok(in the first innings), there was an easy single but rok refused to go for it but Tamim did...After that over...Rok Tamim er sathe behaiy'ar moto kotha bolte chailo kintu Tamim emon ovinoy korlo je Rok re o chinei na...are beta tui sr player, jr ra bhul korche bole ki oder sathe emon bhab dekhano lagbe??
Tamim re numirous occasion e dekhchi easy single nite chay na...tokhon jodi or partner ta or sathe amon kore, Tamim kemon feel korbe?

This same attitude scored 5 50s, 2 tons back to back, got his name up on the honors board in Lords. No one questioned about his attitude then. Down in form and everyone is all up in his case.
Even with bad form he scored 50s both innings. Not flashy, not so solid by his own standard, but he did score runs. He is working through it. Every cricketer goes through this patch. It requires time, not change of attitude.

And FYI, Tamim never was much of a "talker" in the middle of the pitch. He pounds his partner's fist and goes back to his end. If his partners talk, he just nods his head, doesn't pay much attention to their nonsense, and walks away. ALWAYS. It's not anything new.

forget the attitude,
I want the gangster Tamim back.
he changed his approach as he was not getting enough runs, now that he got some runs he should be himself again, besides WI bowling didn't look as strong as England's.
so far apart from the collapse in 2nd ODI their bowlers didn't look to create much pressure on us.

I still saw flashes of the true Tamim every now and then. You can tell he's making more gears to bat under. Which is a good thing. He has the skill, the firepower, and he's adding this patience factor to his repertoire. I dont think this is a bad thing at all, especially for the longer format. But, I think we'll see a more audacious Tamim in Mirpur.

Tamim's records are actually better in Mirpur compared to Chittagong. He averages a 42 with a SR of a 72 with 1 century and 2 half centuries, in Mirpur compared to an average of a 30 with a SR of a 43 with 3 half centuries in 6 matches at Chittagong. Last year he had a 151 from 183 balls against India and then 85 from 71 against England in Mirpur. So it's pretty obvious he's a lot more comfortable playing in Mirpur. He plays more of his natural game there. So let's hope he can click well in the next test match.

Well it's obvious why. Runs come by much more easily in Mirpur than they do in CTG. Shot-making, which is Tamim's domain, is more difficult due to the lower and slower nature of the pitch. Although he didn't do too badly this time around. Averaged just under 45 for the match but didn't get a big score after getting two starts. I won't be surprised though if all our batsmen average better in Mirpur than they do in CTG. Mushy is perhaps the only one for whom it is the opposite. He thrives in difficult/pressure situations.

And I was right.
Averages of our key batsmen in our two current Test grounds:
SBNS, Mirpur
Mahmudullah: 53.66
Tamim Iqbal: 42
Shakib Al Hasan: 39.54
Mohammad Ashraful: 33.55
Junaid Siddique: 31.11
Mushfiqur Rahim: 23.14
Shahriar Nafees: 11.75
Raqibul Hasan: 11
Naeem Islam: 62 (Only 1 Test + 1 NO)
ZACS, Chittagong:
Mushfiqur Rahim: 53
Mahmudullah: 36.25
Naeem Islam: 35.75
Shahriar Nafees: 32.00
Tamim Iqbal: 30.25
Shakib Al Hasan: 22.50
Junaid Siddique: 21.12
Mohammad Ashraful: 20.30
Raqibul Hasan: 18.20
SN too averages significantly higher in ZACS than SBNS.

^Thanks for putting this up bhai. Rock, Naeem, and Mahmudullah still haven't played enough Tests to make an accurate description of how good they are in each ground. Tamim, Shakib, and Mushy have enough tests now. And it's obvious why Tamim plays better in Mirpur. The ball comes on to the bat a lot easier then in Chittagong. Tamim's much better on pitches where there is bounce whereas Mushy is better on pitches that are slower and lower.

Nadim bhaijan...I really don't feel any problem with attitude about batting. He was too aggressive before, now he is trying to change himself in test cricket. I am not sure whether this will work for him or backfire. But this shows that he is trying to change his attitude positively to score more runs.

The Chittagong Test featured Tamim Iqbal Mark II, a batsman who was willing to - brace yourselves for this one - leave balls outside off stump. He also consciously kept getting behind the line and defending balls that weren't in his half.
