exactly.

Tell me who has done exceedingly well recently in opening slot to replace Tamim ? How forgetful we are ! Both Tamim and Imrul has brought us some glory last year and now both of them are in bad patch, and we are thinking of throwing them out ?

I mean, i am also against 'Permanent Position' in the team. Everyone has to perform to worth their value but whom to replace him with ? Cant see any other batters e.g SN, Junaid has done anything noteworthy to replace Tamim yet.

I feel Tamim should be kept off the starting line up for a while. Let him go through a 'matha thanda- pet bandha' phase and play more in the domestic games.

PS: Just realized the initials of Loitta put together read আ-হ-ম-ম-ক.

He should be a regular in our test team but he hasn't done anything notable in ODIs or T20s. I think it's about time we groom youngsters for our ODI team. Nasir has showed talent, Shuvagoto also looked for going for the winning runs against Zimbabwe. The rest of the players have loser mentality including Tamim.

That's what bothers me as well. I know for sure there is not a single batsman with the same capability as Tamim in the team. Only option could be to try some new players. But before settling down someone it won't be wise to remove Tamim as there is always a possibility that he might get his form back. Hopefully he will prove his critics wrong today.

It's a dead rubber, doesn't matter. He hardly plays well when it really matters.

mmm I won't write him off right away. Despite being out of form, his scores for 2011 are :

70, 44, 0 , 38, 0, 5, 62, 5, 32, 4, 3, 44, 61, 45, 21, 1, 36*, 0, 4
Nothing great. But let's compare these stats to one of the greatest opener (as they call) Sehwag:

175 , 35 , 5, 39, 73, 15, 38, 0, 20, 26, 0
These doesn't look great either specially being a Sehwag

So to be fair with Tamim I would like to give him few more chances.

Dropping Tamim is a big no no. I wouldn't even think about it. See #1610 for details.

The thought of dropping Tamim is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. I know we get frustrated the way he gets out and I can't really blame that. He's not on Shakib's level in my opinion but he's still the only other class player that we have in our team besides Shakib. Hopefully he does pick his form up soon because we really do need his big innings.

Why does this Loitta S**t has to interfere in every thing? Calling a meeting in the BCB head office in evening just to drop a player for only one ODI match? Is it a joke?

Unless and until this Loitta Tutul mafia group leaves BCB, nothing will happen to our cricket except consistent declination.

What is this? I am also feeling insulted as a cricket fan after reading the news. No player should be insulted like this. No player!!!

True.

But I don't like the approach from the top of BCB. It's a normal team management decision if they have to drop any player for some matches. Why does it have to be the board president there?

If this is true then expecting professionalism from our players might be rough. Mind you the Lankan players haven't been paid for MONTHS!!! None of them have threatened to walk out on their country though.

@WarWolf: Sri Lanka's cricketers have not been paid in 8 months. They have played 3 series in that time and are in South Africa for the 4th one.

Mohammad Hafeez to Tamim Iqbal, OUT, Hafeez has again got Tamim for a duck! This is uncanny! Devon Smith will have his sympathies for Tamim. This one turned. It angled in, landed on off and straightened ever so slightly. Tamim was forward and solid in defence, but down the wrong line. The ball slipped past and hit off stump.

Tamim Iqbal b Mohammad Hafeez 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
