to be honest in last 2 ODI his captaincy in the field was worst than Ashraful.

Below average. Poor bowler management. Dropped catches, shoddy bowling or Saheba's eyesight didn't help either. Neither did Coventry's WR on a batting paradise.

BTW, even greats like Lloyd and Chappell had poor days. Only King Viv didn't.

Poor decision making on both ODIs. On many cases whimsical... defies logic.

In Bangladeshi standard, he is doing ok. You have to take in consideration that he got two pacers who simply suck, a specialist spinner who is not much of a wicket taker, himself and bunch of partimers to fill in rest of the bowling quota. Not to mention the bowers are not getting good support from fielders. Prolly even Steve Waugh would suck as a captain if he was given this bunch.

Couldn't agree today. Part-timers were doing Okay today and whenever someone was doing good, he got replaced by Shakib. This was poor as when someone is bowling good, it's common sense to continue with him for as many overs as possible.

lets not blame Shakib here - there were two dollies missed; and several misfields where the fielders overran; on top of that add some **** seamers and a **** specialist spinner and really wat else do u expect

actually shakib's continuous changes brought in ash and got the early breakthrough followed a couple more changes that got the next two wickets; the bowlers also had coventry so i don't rlly see the reason to blame shakib !

Why doesn't sakib talk to the bowler when they bowl? He should encourage them like Ash.

agree with eshen bhai. i think he is doing just fine. he kept rotating bowlers so those ppl don get settle so easy like the last time. in fact tht was the reason why zimboz kept so quite in 15-25 overs. otherwise they would have crossed 400 mark with this sort of bowling attack from BD. It will be very unfair if you blame sakib for today's game or for the 3rd ODI. in both cases he had his fields right on spot, yet they managed to mass up the catches. Now imagine if russel mama took Mr. V's catch properly when an opportunity was given! No other zimbo batsman were comfortable against BD spin except for him. So yah.. be realistic and reasonable. We are talking about team Bangladesh, not australia. :P

I agree that Sakib does not speak to his bowlers and encourage them more. I guess he will learn, but give him a break, in spite of a few mistakes and his guys misfielding and dropping catches, he has won 3 away series. We will see a better game on Tuesday when I feel that our boys will go all out to win and does not allow a Zim batsman to score another century.

Agreed. But then again, Mushy hogs it for him.

I partially agree with both Ehsen and Miraz bhai. He is ok but definitely made some mistakes today.

He is a new captain and has been successful so far by listening to his heart. International cricket is a tougher place than that. Hearts won't always be right and he already started to realize it. He needs some more time to figure out what is the more balanced way to go. Till then we will see him doing some very good moves (the one which clicks) and very bad moves (the ones which doesn't click).

I agree with Ehsen about the bowler limitations and fielding problems. When a captain sees his fielders dropping chances it's very tough for him to continue thinking clearly. I guess he gets little bit of stuck in thinking. This is the case which probably happened to Shakib today.

BTW please don't forget this captaincy thing came to him out of nowhere in the middle of a series. He didnt get enough chance to prepare himself enough for it. So give him some time. Atleast he is trying and the team is having a good momentum.

i am not worried about shakib's captaincy - he does a fairly good job...when experience will come even better captaincy

HOWEVER, wat is starting to worry me is Shakib's recent T20 style of batting in ODIs; he is trying to blast everything from the beginning and really needs to go back to his old ways imo, where his consistency was much more impressive

His captaincy lacked patience, he kept changing bowlers alot without giving them enough time to adjust.
