Mushfiq drops too many catches. We badly need a real wk or a gr8 improvement of Mushfiq,s keeping.

Come on Rafi Bhai. He has improved immensely as a keeper in the past month or two. He has been quite sharp behind the stumps, taken some marvelous catches and got some amazing stumpings. I dont see much fault as a WK.

After quiet some time a interview of Mushy. National team WK should be out of pull. Though I don't like this pull system.

Cant see a National team without Mushy, he is their cheer leader and gives all the bowlers encouragement, he is a little dynamite behind the stumps. I like his " Come on lads, come on boys"
Wish that he was a bit taller, but he has improved as a wicket keeper. Like Sakib, he is a hard working cricketer.

BBC correspondent Oliver Brett has chosen Mushfiqur Rahim as one of the ones to watch out for in 2010.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/oliverbre...low_in_20.html

Edit: A bit surprising to be honest.

Must be something special in Mushy for him to be chosen. As for me, he is still a very hardworking cricketer. He is very much focused, and hopes he improves his glovework this year.

Not surprised at all. Mushy will conquer the world some day, 2010 or not.

Well, no doubt Mushy has the potential. But there were others who did better recently, performancewise ....but anyway who cares! He's a BD man and BBC has marked him as the one to watch. That's all I need to know.

I was really impressed with the way he batted today. He was very busy from the start of his innings and looked focused. He prevented the collapse getting deeper and was deliberately keeping Ash out of strike and retaining it himself because he knew Ash'er kono bhorosha nai. What I found funny was that he was the one giving advice to Ash instead of it being the other way round and Ash has a 150+ matches' experience behind him lol. He also seemed more involved than Shakib in the field setting...I definitely see him as captain some day. And I'm sure he will be a good one. The end was unfortunate though...a sudden rush of blood and although the decision was questionable, it was the wrong shot and it was premeditated. Other than that he was in good touch and looked good to get a big one today.

Edit: A bit surprising to be honest.
I think it has something to do with Mushy's success in the last tour in '05. He scored a century against one of the counties at the age of 16 and the media were all over him. And to be fair he does say he picked six players who will have the most affect in England not World cricket. And since Bangladesh and Pakistan are the only teams who will tour England this year, he picked players from these two teams only. So it's not surprising at all.

EDIT: In fact he mentions it clearly: "A reminder of the format: as per previous years, I am selecting three young players making their mark on the county scene, one player from each country touring England in the summer (Bangladesh and Pakistan), and a member of the England women's team."

So basically Mushfiq is his pick to watch out from the Bangladesh side touring England in the summer. That isn't much of an overstatement.

At last he showed what he is capable of, good to see him treating "ordinary bowling" in a ordinary way )

The golden boy now has 650 runs at 40 in his last 9 tests.

What a superb player he's becoming.

lol but the average is still awesome especially for a batsman who comes to bat at number 7.
