Default Zimbabwe Tour of Bangladesh 2009

http://www.cricinfo.com/bdeshvzim09/...ml?CMP=OTC-RSS

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule for the five-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to be played in Dhaka and Chittagong. Zimbabwe arrive in Dhaka on October 21 and play two warm-up games on October 23 and 25 in the lead-up to the ODI series which begins on October 27.
The teams play their first three ODIs in Dhaka and the final two in Chittagong before Zimbabwe head back on November 6. All the fixtures are day games.
Zimbabwe will look to make amends for their 4-1 loss at home against the same opposition while Bangladesh will be keen to take their tally of consecutive ODI series wins to four. Two of their three successive ODI series wins have come against Zimbabwe.

Such a long time away, atleast our players will be injury free, and wont have to field a third string bowling attack.

Injured players included

Mashrafe
Razzak
Rubel
Enamul
Robin

And only two stadiums for five matches, seems like a waste.

That would be a waste.

I would rather we played a four day game against a Australian state side.

Pretty ugly way to name a stadium.

Jahur stadium would sound so much better.

5-0 is expected. What will be the game plan? How the wicket will be prepared. Typical subcontinent flat and turning?

I will prefer to see flat but bouncy wickets we had seen in WI, kind of wicket that has something for everyone - pacers, spinners, batters.

Even if Shakib is unable to play, i doubt it would be a difficult series for Bangladesh. At home, we are always a much more formidable side. And with the help of our tailormade pitches, i seriously dont see how Zim can win a game, let aside the series.

So if Shak and Mash is out, is Ash regaining the captaincy
as JS suggested the rotational movement of the musical chair.

It is not possible to prepare Flat and Bouncy. Our soil is not that hard like WI. Moreover, in October, just after the rainy season, it is impossible. We can either cut all the grass to make a slow & turning wicket or keep little grass and role heavily to have a batting wicket where ball will come quickly to the bat. Usually the second one is used for ODI to have lots of run.

Can we decide not to cut a single grass and make a fast wicket? Are we that brave? Don't think so.
