Mark my words. Ashraful will score some big runs against India. They're his favorite opponents. Can't say rest of his team mates will fare.

He won't. I think he is beyond his peak unless some miracle happens.

This is also I'm thinking and there is absolutely no doubt about that. Also he needs to perform his once in a year quota.

The difference between jodu modhu with 25 avg & Ash with 23 avg is this, we are still no.10 team of the world. I can count how many match we won against any top5 team in any format odi/test. Now Ash is the ONLY 1 capable to win match alone for us once every 6months,and dont argue with me on tht,it is proved. Unless BD starts winning against top5 teams by 25avg jodu modhu every now& then, Ash will be an automatic selection for BD at any given time like Lara was to windies and sachin is to india. Coz without Ash,our total win against top5 will be a certain ZERO instead of 3or5. By jodu modhu i meant the current pool of bd national team players. So no replacing Ash.

miya bhai ami ki apnake koise naki hopeful nah hoite. off course hopeful hoben. apnio hopeful hoben, amio hopeful hobo. i'm not here to bash anyone, at the end of the day i'm here to support the team, just like you are. but mark my word is getting really annoying, specially since barely it comes true.
Murad bhai apni tomra bollen keno? ami bolsi amar nijer kotha, apni aie khan theke tomra koi pailen? ami ashraful er against e kotha boli jokhon amar nijer ichai boli, amar pichone kew thake nah je boshe plan korbo ajke kemne ashrafuler naame kharap kisu lekhte pari, ami je player re support kori thik sei rokom aie player ra criticize kori. for the umpteenth time i'm not here to bash anyone and praise anyone, i'm here to talk about players, that maybe good or bad. but if for talking about a certain player i have get labeled as a "basher" than may be i'll try to "bash" that player as less as i can.

None taken Murad Bhai. lately i have been participating in discussions with other members about players and i don't want anyone to get the impression that i have anything against anyone.

Because Ajfar India is his favorite opponent. In test match against India we can expect some good innings from him. Realistically he is one of our main power house to perform in test match.

if he doesn't perform against the other asian teams then he shouldn't have a place in the test team, as it stands based on his history he really should only be selected against the asian teams but since he is ashraful he gets that free ride that the others don't. i mean seriously, the guy averages under 15 outside of the subcontinent in his 9 year career of playing test cricket, who else in any country in any era has got a free ride like this for such a long time?
i'm not saying ash doesn't have talent, but the talent doesn't come out often enough, and in test cricket ash certainly isn't a match winner because how many tests has BD won with ash in the team? not very many at all and there have been plenty of matches. ash has more of a case to stay in the ODI team than the test team, for test cricket all he has going for him is his experience (which imo is irrelevant since he has such a poor record the experience won't help him or the team), his century making ability (which although it's rare it's still more than the others in the test match format), and his record in the subcontinent.

very good post...but the problem is we have no good enough replacement for Ash...We hardly get test match to play and we cant take risk selecting other young cricketer unless he is someone vastly talented like Shakib. Whoever come to replace Ash may fail to prove within one or two chances(match) which will again bring back Ash cuz he has some records in test for us, not match winning but scoring biggy. that's the reason supporting him for last 7-8 years. Its easy to say wash out Ash from the team but really there's no stronger one yet.
we need Ash more than ODI....he is still young :P and got experience. its not too bad to keep him while others are also not performing to win a test as well. :p

why give ash all the chances though? guys like aftab and alok are more mature than the youngies but are just as talented as ash, plus there are some young guys worth giving ago like naeem, imrul and rahim can be given a chance up the order so there are options it's just people aren't willing to take the chance.

Hey………………..Hey
Give the Gaay a break….Grrrrr
But how can we give him a “Break”? Lets see:
#Break his finger (request Khamakha Roach as he did to Ponting), it might give him enough rest
#Study Break to pass SSC/HSC (request coaching centers like Saifur’s, Mentor, Adob, Beadob etc)
#Break Dance (not possible as M.Jackson is not available)
#Break his heart for self realization, as most of us will agree (I’ll do, coz my friend’s friend is a friend of Monalisa --I am not kidding)
Note: Gaay is not Gai/Goru or Gay……..just a spelling mistake
