ya thats not good if you cannot wrap up the tail but still getting the team 177/9 is not bad..the batsmen are completely at fault here..you need to give the bowlers something to work with..again this is why our A team needs to play more cricket outside of BD..batsmen need to learn how to play against the ball moving around..the thing that is scary is that all these batsmen have some kind of international experience and Imrul is our test regular and even he is struggling..again this is a warm up match so there still is plenty of cricket left for the team to bounce back..

Bangladesh A draw tour opener

Cricinfo staff

September 29, 2009
Text size: A | A

Bangladesh A's three-day tour opener against the Maharashtra Under-22s ended in a draw in Nasik.

Maharashtra were bowled out for 215 in 74.4 overs in their first innings, with Mohammed Sohrawordi taking 5 for 46. Viral Shah (50) and Kaustabh Patel (43) were the main contributors to Maharashtra's total.

In reply, Bangladesh were kept to 147 in 52.2 overs. Kishor Bhikane's 5 for 54 in 17 overs did the damage; only Faisal Hossain (45 not out) and Hannan Sarkar (21) managed decent scores. Banglades had begun the second day on 29 for 2 but their hopes of taking a lead vanished as Bhikane secured Maharashtra a 68-run lead. Bangladesh did well to take five wickets before stumps - Talha Jubair and Ziaur Rahman took two each - and Maharashtra closed day three with a lead of 155.

A declaration at 179 for 9 gave Bangladesh some more batting practice, and they reached 207 for 8 in 65 overs when the game ended. Imrul Kayes hit 40 from 48 balls, Sarkar made a brisk 31, Imran Ahmed displayed good resistance in scoring a patient 41 from 127 balls, and Rahman swatted 31 from 19 balls.

Bangladesh will now play a four-day game, two one-day games, and two Twenty20 matches against Maharashtra.

Ohh Alhamdulillah! Allah be praised million days and nights!

Thank you dear Shabbir bhaiya and Ahnaf bhaiya(Tiger444) for the score update and letting us know the final outcome of the match....what a big relief....I pretty much wrote the match off this morning at 4:30 a.m.(New York time) when I called and spoke with coach Shekhar Gosh dada, I had to joke with him and keep a smile on my face while I was dying in agony thinking that we are about to lose the match!!!

Man, all-rounders Zia and Dolar saved the match fro us, and of course Imran Ahmed worked hard at the end as well (but I expect that from him, he is a top order batsman for this team)

Go Bangladesh!

It is my pleasure dear cricket_dorshok bhaiya and tiger444 bhaiya!

Tiger444 bhaiya, I am so sorry I have been calling you Ahnan, instead of Ahnaf (the correct name)...you are too polite not to correct me all this time bro, I feel super embarrassed now! But good thing is I found out the mistake and corrected it and Ahnaf will forever be engraved in my mind, beyond my last breath bro!

Well thanks to Allah Subhanatala we have managed to make it a draw.

Many many thanks to our dearest one and only Javed bhai (Bujhee kom)
You have done this with great passion and to inform those who doesn't know this is not the first time Javed bhai has managed to get the updates from the ground.

Thank you Javed bhai.

Full scorecard of the match - http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/cu...ch/425113.html

Saghir was excluded from the match, Hannan kept wicket (I wonder how many catches he dropped).

Rajin got a pair in the match. He made a duck in the first innings after playing 34 balls!

I thought Faisal Hossain was banned from bowling for his suspect action!
