Default Bangladesh A team in Maharastra performance analysis thread

I always like to see A team in action it seems to me Performance of A team is the mirror image of national team.Performance of Bangladesh A team in india is very disappointing specially batting. They manager to get a draw against U-22 but against MCA State team it was really disappointing.BD A team was all out for 81 in first innings so i am trying to give u the statics of the team performance in last 2 longer version matches.

So, it seems Shuvo remains and enigma. His best chance is for an insertion as a replacement spinner, not as a permanent all rounder. Wonder how much more time this guy will need to be prepared.

I've met Ziaur Rahman. He is tall, strongly built. He might do well as a medium-fast if given more opportunity.

Nafis, Hannan, Rajin & Faisal - club cricket. Enough said.

Shahadat - this young fellow needs reprogramming. Wonder if he is hiding some injury or something. He's just fading away.....

BATTING ANALYSIS:
Overall as a team performance batting was really disappointing after all it was a state team and a U-22 state team.IMRUL dishearted me he is our test opener got few runs he got the starts made total 64 runs from 63 balls!! Was it a sensible batting in this condition from a test opener?Nafis made nothing to mention though he missed the 2nd match for injury and Shamsur Rahman had to open in 2nd match.Shamsur Rahman failed to put any good impression.Hannan the captain played as wicket keeper in 1st match. Hannan made some runs (highest scorer of bangladesh team total 69 runs in 3 innings) was it enough to knock on the doors of selectors for a recall?IMRAN and FARHAD in the middle tried to do something but it was really hopeless from Razin.Sohrawardy Shuvo was known as emerging all rounder but his batting was not good at all.Rather Dollar and Zia tried to put something on the board. It was noticeable that there was no half century from any one from 3 innings. After this two longer version matches i feel really we need to put much more attention to improve our domestic FC matches.

There is nothing to write about home for this performance. All that can be said is that they need to shake up the miseries and concentrate harder to up their game. No player performed, no bolwers impressed... its a match to forget and deny that it ever happened.

Again, this exposes the ragged nature of our domestic cricket and proves that we're nothing without international cricket. The national team would have made an easy meal out of this Maharashtra attack and the only difference between it and the A team is the experience acquired from international matches.

i am not too disappointed with the bowling performance. these kind of tracks throw up 300 runs. and in these domestic level quality matches quite rubbish players e.g. agarkar do amazing whereas india's national bowlers can fail. some of the batsmen on the team e.g. the opener (can't remember name) have played against the likes of harbajhan and have faired well.

as to our batting - that was nothing short of appalling. 200 odd would have been acceptable

BOWLING ANALYSIS:
In context of batting bowling was not bad at all.At least there were some personal achievement. There was a shortage of a spinner in the attack.
S.Shuvo did very well he is maturing well and i think he may get a call in the national team shortly.Dollar Talha and Ziaur did well and Dollar and Ziaur put some runs as well in this run famine.I was amazed with the bowling performance of Faisal.I knew that he is a part time bowler but he did excellent as a part timer.I heard he is a medium pacer is it true? Was his bowling performance a fluke?Shahadats performance was really disappointing he gave 99 runs in 23 overs and took only 2 wickets.Shahadat needs to do something to survive at this level.

shahadat should go back to his old action, if he's not happy with his new action after this long and the results aren't coming then as said he needs to do something and imo that means going back to his old action. go back to the old action and work on wrist position and if he does that i reckon he'll perform alot better and have better pace.

i agree the team doesn't look strong on paper, but other than the ICLers there isn't many players that have missed out here. the thing is though, if when the ICLers are included the team becomes much much stronger, especially the batting.

After all this despire, some personal achievements r like ray of light.Shuvo did very well with the ball.It seems he is a consistent performer what should be the first criteria to be selected for national team.Faisal did well, his performance was all round specially bowling.Has he improved his bowling?Ziaur showed some all round performance as well it was bad luck for him that he was dropped from the side to give space to Shahadat.

- with national selection the selectors first need to look at the current national team and who is or isn't performing as they should be. if some players aren't performing but have been given enough time to do so, then you can look at bringing someone else into the national team (the selectors need to decided whether to give them more time or not).

- if it's decided that someone isn't rising to expectations in the national team then the selectors should look at players outside of the national team. selectors need to first look at the dynamic of the team and whether there are any players doing well enough to directly take on the role of the underperforming national player. if there is then it's a matter of the selectors looking at talent, consistency, work ethic, potential and picking the best candidate.

- if there isn't a player who can directly take the role of the underperforming national teamer then the selectors need to either leave the national team as is until someone comes along, or they need to review the dynamic of the national team and consider other possible dynamics. this could mean changing one role in the team (e.g. swapping a spin allrounder for a pace allrounder rather than a spin allrounder for another spin allrounder) or it could mean that more than one role in the team needs to be looked at (this could just be a matter of changing roles of players already in the team or it could mean bringing in one or more players to create a better balance if the players already in the team can't create the balance).

that is my general idea of how selection should go, of course that's easier said than done especially when it comes to the BD team. selection policy should mainly be a guide and not always set in stone, there will be times when you need to take a risk.

Wasn't a very good performance by our A team but let's not lose hope on them. There were a few good achievements from some of our boys, and they should take this series as a learning experience.

Shuvo looked good with the ball and is starting to show good consistency with his bowling. Our batting was very poor and most of our batsman weren't able to do anything special.

Really disappointing stats. But they are playing cricket after a long break. This might affected their performence. Their preparation was also severely hampered by Eid and Ramadan reason. 81 allout made those reason meaningless. Hoping better cricket next time.
Imrul Kayes disappoints me. I have always doubt if he is fit for playing big innings at test level.
Shuhrawadi shuvo is only bright spot. He deserves a call from selectors.

Don't forget American Taka. 3 wickets in the first inning and kept it tight in the second.

Default Performance analysis:A team in india and chances of inclusioni in national team.

1)Faisal Hossain:100% marks for him.He did excellent all round performance 10 wickets from 6 innings avg 16.50 and 144 runs from 7 innings average 28.8 To me he deserve a recall at national team
2)Dollar Mahmood:90% marks for him.Good all round performance 9 wickets from 7 innings avg 21.44 (Was a bit expensive) Batting:68 runs from 5 innings avg 34.He deserve to retain his place in national team.
3)Suhrawardi Shuvo:He is becoming a consistent customer day by day.12 wickets from 8 innings avg 18.5 batting:58 runs avg:14.5 I expected a bit more batting from him so 85% marks fro him.If he can do the same job in practice match against zimbabwe then cant we think him as second SLA in national team?
4)Shahadat:9 wickets from 6 innings average:18.22 Seems he is improving now.75% marks for him.Need more practice.
5)Hannan Sarkar:148 runs from 7 innings avg 24.66 60% marks for him.
6)Talha: 8 wickets from 7 innings average 28.5 55% marks for him.
7)IMRAN AHMED:51 runs 3 innings average 25.5 55% marks.
8)Ziaur:76 runs average 12.66 and 3 wickets 35.33 average 55% marks for him
9)Nazmul Milon:74 stop average 18.5
10)IMRUL 50% marks others sucks.

Bangladesh A team in Maharastra performance analysis thread -1(Longer Version)

What's the different between this thread and the one you opened before?

Can't we discuss everything in the same thread as this tour is not that important. Nobody care if BD players did good or bad. Not even the BD selectors.

didn't faisal get picked up for his action on this tour? if so he shouldn't be getting a recall to the national team, or if he does he shouldn't be bowling. really a pretty average tour with shuvo's 5fer being the highlight. the pacers did alright, can't really say they did a bad job but the batsmen weren't up to scratch, the experienced batsmen didn't step it up enough (faisal, rajin, hannan, NI) and neither did the leading youngsters (imrul, shamsur).
