Default "New Jihad Code Threatens Al-Qaeda"

Quote:
The new code, a 417-page religious document entitled "Corrective Studies" is the result of more than two years of intense and secret talks between the leaders of the LIFG and Libyan security officials.

The code's most direct challenge to al Qaeda is this: "Jihad has ethics and morals because it is for God. That means it is forbidden to kill women, children, elderly people, priests, messengers, traders and the like. Betrayal is prohibited and it is vital to keep promises and treat prisoners of war in a good way. Standing by those ethics is what distinguishes Muslims' jihad from the wars of other nations."

HHS, Do we muslims know even the meaning of the word JIHAD?

Struggle. There are four types of struggle. One can achieve or try to achieve one step at a time.

1. Struggle with in ones self. Struggle with his/her nafs. One can move on to the second level once he/she has won the war against his/her own desires. I don't see modern day men/women winnings this one. Those who can may Allah be pleased with them.

2. Jihad against one's (own) tongue.

3. Jihad against one's (own) hand.

4. The last one is sacrificing yourself for the sake of Allah Subhana watala's cause once the previous three is achieved.

We are all doing Jihad all the time. It's the constant Jihad against our 'Nafs' and 'Shaitan'. This has been labeled as 'Jihad-e-Akbar'. Biggest Jihad of all.
