Thanks Eshen for the thread.I did not like the idea of Withdrawing of home and away system this years league.Barishal and Rajshahi will play at Ctg its very funny and will not draw any spectators at all Though i liked the idea of 1st 2nd phase and final system. It was a better idea to have both home and away in 1st phase followed by phase 2 and final.Total matches are very few i should say it will not produce good test players at all.

in previous version, each team could play 10 FC matches, in new system a team can play maximum 9 matches and minimum 5 matches. I though more longer version matches will improve our players cricket skill and BCB is reducing the number of longer version matches. hmmm.

Why BCB selecting players for these regional team? Why they are importing one area's player to another area's team?
They should not named these team after 6 divisions name. They should be named like BCB Red, BCB blue...

"We have brought the changes with an eye on making the competition more competitive and we want to see how its goes. We have had certain issues in our mind before bringing the changes to the format. What we felt is that in this format there will be the competitiveness amongst the players as well as the teams to go into the next round and play in the final," explained BCB's tournament committee chairman Gazi Ashraf Hossain yesterday.
"From the last few years we saw that fatigue set in towards the end of the tournament among the players because of the long duration and some matches were played without any purpose. But we believe that things will be different under this new format," he added.
"And what we felt that our players didn't get enough rest which is not good for a player's fitness. We had to look at our international calendar also because our "A'' team and academy team have some tours from August and more or less same players are playing for the teams. And they have got the opportunity to play the longer-version matches. And what we believe is that it could be a perfect stage for the players to perform well in the league to enter into the 'A' team and Academy team," said Ashraf.
The former national skipper however said that they had to change the home and away basis league because of a shortage of the venues as there are a number of international schedules for the international venues in the coming months.
Ashraf also said that they had to interfere slightly in team selection because of the fine tuning of the team and as well made sure a check and balance in the team.
"There was other reasons for reducing number of the matches as this season the National Cricket League T20 competition is included besides one-day competition. If we want to play in the Champions League in future then there is no other choice rather than arrange this kind of T20 competition," said Ashraf.
The BCB had initially pencilled the NCL to start on December 20 but the Jan 1 kick-off represents a 12-day delay.

Even after loaning out so many players to other divisions Khulna and Rajshahi look the strongest teams. How come Anamul isn't in any of the squads? And Shafiul Islam as well?

Good question. I am guessing it is Jr. He missed good part of DPL because of Hajj, but should be back in Bangladesh by now.

Shafiul should be in the Rajshahi squad. I think DS misspelled his name as Saiful.

Have to say this is idiotic thinking by Lipu. PCL is doing far better to build high quality T20 teams with foreigners and what not, BCB could have just let PCL champion to represent Bangladesh in Champions League.
There is no need to have an one-day league involving NCL teams either, all that BCB will have to do is to endorse DPL as a list-A league.
Those two moves could have saved NCL plenty of time for a full blown home & away basis FC league.

I think change of format will make the competition more competitive but still did not like the idea of dropping the home and away format.
