Default I blame Sakib for this loss...

1. He was too defensive, when india was 3 outs. Let them go and take swings, not singles.
2. You dont try to go out of the norm (toss).
3. Sakib should'be used rasel better. He was the best bowler.

Dew really made every bowler very ordinary. No turn, no bounce and no movemnet for seamers.

Bangladesh did well by posting 296, but it wasn't enough considering the wetness of the field.

Wasn't it once again Sakib's fault that the dew was against us in the first place... could've been the indians...

To be honest, we're still in with a chance, but Shakib needs to put fielders into the circle. A problem that India have benefited from throughout the innings... but he hasn't, and won't. Easy singles, again and again. It's not his fault that the fielding has been absolute cack though.

Yeah definetely. It's not like it's our first match in the tournament. We played a match already plus he observed the match between India and Sri Lanka so he should've been familiar with the conditions and how the pitch will behave in the second innings. And I'm sure he knows all this but still he decided to bat first mainly because of over-confidence I believe. Indian bowling is poor but they were extra poor today and they would've struggled even more in the second innings.

I dont think its overconfidence... but if Bangladesh were asked to chase anything that India put up, I'm 100% sure that they would have been able to. I dont think its overconfidence, but I donno what it is either that have created him to act this way... Bangladesh didn't lose here... Sakib did. Many people have done their job today and worked as a unit, but still couldnt win. Rasel bowled well, Tamim blisterred, Riyad too, Imrul kept it going... Fielding was exceptional at times.... Its not often that everything comes out like this for bangladesh, and we still lose...

Is it the decision of Shakib or a decision of team management?
I dont think Shakib alone make this crap decision.

Then you dont be a puppet and do whatever the freking bcb tells you to do. Stand up and kick those damn bcb officials that took bribes or whatever, and do what is right. I know sakib is not that stupid to not know what he was doing was throwing the game...

Shakib is capable of making crap decisions. Using Razzaq was very poor decision, pushing unnecessarily for the second run and not diving for making the ground .....

But toss is most probably not his decision alone. JS has a big role there.

He made good decision to bat first. However, after having IND for 51-3 he opened up the field instead of attacking and gave IND easy singles. What Tamim took by power hitting Dhoni did it with tuk-tak shots.

The score of 300 is not really big in these days of T20s and such a batting wicket. The indians and srilankans play T20s lot more than us and have more strokes than our batsmen. Unless we get rid of snails like Raqibul, we wont be competitive in this level.

I believe we started to feel more optimistic with Bangladesh team. As Siddons puts it, we want to see the curve...I already started to see respect from opposition teams.....not very long that we will start winning.....miss Mash a lot....he needs to be back asap!

Sakib explained his desicion by saying "we didnt want to chase 350". so they were confident India would score 350+ if they had batted first...

When India batted, few of their spinners got a little help... if they didnt, 350 would be chasable. And thats not the mentality that you play major games with. Thats the mentality I had when I played in school. We would bat first so that if we score low, we dont have to field for long. In here you're supposed to play, and play well. Take every chance to get something. Even if batting second gives you 1% extra chance of winning, you jump on it.

The toss made the difference, and we threw it away.

Why, I would atleast ask for a reason.

It was indeed a lost opportuinty.

I am withholding my comments where we lost our opportunities.

I am withholding my comments about "where we lost our opportunities". I with watch the game tonight (taped) before I will have a better idea.

I get the feeling that Sakib is not the wonder that we all thought that he was, maybe soccer20reverse was right.

That's the only part I can question Shakib in. His decision at the toss was almost paying off until that 4th wickets partnership. Only if the fielders were told to close in rather than get spread out, those singles would've been difficult to score. Dew did cause problems, but with 3 wickets down, we had the upper hand..and that's exactly when we let it slip away.

Still, good performances from the batsmen. I'm impressed!
